Go to Turkey! You can get all inclusive for all of you for £1500, 3/4*. The flight from Gatwick is 4 hours, people are nice, things to do for kids, lots of shopping in Bodrum especially, Antalya is nice too, you can't go wrong. And if you are lucky, I might check your bags in for you... Croatia and Montenegro are nice to, but slightly over your budget. Tunisia is cheap, but I don't think the kids would like the food.

You need to narrow it down a bit - you know, do you want to go abroad, or stay at home, for example? Camping / self-catering / hotel?
Ok, this is in the 'Air Travel' section, so that answers that one.... sorry!
And isn't June during school term time?! You shouldn't mess with your children's education too much.

I don't know how much American money that is, but you should visit one of Paramount's amusement parks in America. On the website http://paramountparks.com they will give you a list of parks and locations, and also how much it will cost. And furthermore, on each of the parks websites it will give you a list of hotels and other attractions in the area. They also give you the opportunity to purchase packages that include hotel, admission to the park, and also other features in the area.

Portugal- I loved going to Portugal when I was a child.
Spain could be good too as it is cheap, cheerful and not too long on the plane!
