It happens usualy with bleached hair. It's the clorine, it's slightly green. If you wash your hair well afterwards, thoroughly, you should be fine. Bleached blondes won't be though ;)
My old room-mate found out the hard way.
Could also be the quality of shampoo used, perhapse?

if you swim a lot and a pool has a lot of chlorine in it can turn green or if you swim a lot and don't wash the chlorine out then you can have the chance of it turning green i use stuff make for blond hair that takes chlorine out i have never had green hair but i still wash it with it since i do swim in my pool every day.
And actually this happend more to naturally blond hair. I am one.

when you dye you hair blonde and stay in any pool for an extended period of time yes, your hair may turn green. I have never seen anyones hair turn green from swimming in a pool but i wasn't really around any blondes long enough to really see their hair turn.

If you die your hair blonde, the chlorine from the pool will turn it green. I know people whos' hair has turned green it's not that big of a deal

Yes, my hair will turn greenish - esp. when I was a little toehead. I had a friend growing up with super white-blonde hair and she would literally get green "highlights" in her hair. It was comical - so she used special shampoo to neutralize the discolorations. If I go swimming and don't wash my hair quickly enough after, it will cause my hair to darken and become an icky color.

Usually natural blonde won't change, but if your hair is chemically treated it WILL get a greenish tint to it. And yes, I've had it happen. All you need is a shampoo that removes chlorine...you can get them at Walmart. You really should use them no matter what color your hair is...chlorine is very bad for your hair.

The clorine in the pool CAN turn hair a greenish color if it's not rinsed out immediately after swimming.
