How can those who are in the Gay & Lesbian Christian movement justify Biblically the leading of a homosexual lifestyle? From my reading of the Bible, such a lifestyle is definitely ruled out. But interested in other views. And before anyone accuses me of homophobia I adhere to the tenet "Hate the sin, but love the sinner".

I don't see any evidence that homosexuals are "born"; the science does not back this up. And to answer some of the people who have already accused me of being a bigot, not true. I have some friends and acquaintances who practice homosexuality and who know my views. I'd really just like an answer to my question - where is the Biblical; evidence in support of a homosexual lifestyle. Surely not too much to ask for, is it?

I afree with Char ans Serah S. Homosexual behaviour is sinful, but like all sins can be forgiven. Of course for that to happen the sinner must first see his actions as sin and then repent.

Based on the Bible alone, homosexuality is sin. However, like every other sin that one whats to justify, scripture is distorted or ignored completely. I agree that it is not for us to set ablaze sinners for God will deal with that. As a believe in God and the Bible, one would be obligated to speak the truth from the scriptures.

Romans Chapter 1

26 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. 27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.

Difficult one. Jesus never speaks against homosexuality. Its the Old Testament as is being stoned for insulting your parents. In the NT its only really Paul that mentions it and he has some interesting views that are oppressive to women. (Now considered wrong) SO its definately a grey area. I believe that the bIble does say its wrong but I find it hard to accept morally that something thats not a choice can be wrong. Why should you have to live a life alone when mankind strives for companions. There are many tangents of unanswered questions and doubt you can get a clear answer. Sorry!

In Romans 1:26-32 In the horrid depravity of the heathen, the truth of our Lord's words was shown: Light was come into the world, but men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil; for he that doeth evil hateth the light. The truth was not to their taste. And we all know how soon a man will contrive, against the strongest evidence, to reason himself out of the belief of what he dislikes. But a man cannot be brought to greater slavery than to be given up to his own lusts. As the Gentiles did not like to keep God in their knowledge, they committed crimes wholly against reason and their own welfare. The nature of man, whether pagan or Christian, is still the same; and the charges of the apostle apply more or less to the state and character of men at all times, till they are brought to full submission to the faith of Christ, and renewed by Divine power. There never yet was a man, who had not reason to lament his strong corruptions, and his secret dislike to the will of God. Therefore this chapter is a call to self-examination, the end of which should be, a deep conviction of sin, and of the necessity of deliverance from a state of condemnation.
Their lifestyle does not match the christian life.

Homosexuality is not biblical. God strictly forbids it and labels it as a sin, saying that those who practice such will not see Heaven. And no, it is also not back up by science as one being born as such. God does not and did not create sin.

First off, ''Love thy neighbor as thy self'', not "hate the sin, love the sinner". If you wanna be a bigot, go right ahead. But if you wanna be a Christian, start spreading the love, even to those we consider sinners.

KNOW THIS: The love of Christ supercedes ALL mosaic law, and the love of Christ is not within you, dear brother!

actually, homosexuality is only mentioned in the old testament in leviticus 18. the gospel, which overrides the old testament for all i know, makes no mention of homosexuality anywhere. that in combination with the fact that jesus preached tolerance, acceptance and respect for everyone would mean to me that in christianity homosexuality is not a sin.

There is a destinct passage in the bible which states 'man should not lie with man as man lies with woman' This is the basic statement which holds that homosexuality is a sin. However if you think about it man CANNOT lie with man as he lies with woman, it is physically impossible, so the whole thing is open to interpretation.

It is a sin and no amount of justification can avoid this fact. A clear reading of the Bible says this is a sin.

I respond the comparable way I respond to my fellow Christians who desire to gay bash: do no longer stereotype ALL with the aid of the stupidity of a few. Being an insentitive, bigoted, intolerate jerk is an equivalent opportunistic flaw. It impacts gays, straights, blacks, whites, Jews, Chirstians, or despite team you desire to categorize people in INDISCRIMINATELY. In asking this question, you're perpetuating the reality which you detest. a individual bashing me, my race, my militia service, my faith, who i like, etc is in basic terms blowing warm AIR (aka freedom of speech). words do no longer harm, yet whilst those words reason somebody to harm the gang they talk out against? Then they are going to be dealt with subsequently. Why hunch to their point to convince them in any different case when I definitely produce different stuff to do?

Yes, it's a sin. But it's no worse than the sins committed by heterosexuals in the church.
