Think about it, women couldn't vote in the past, now they can, but it took time. Cigarettes were everywhere at one time, now they're banned from most indoor areas, this took time. We're smart enough now to eventually realize that religion is false, we're advanced, we are not the people of 2000 years ago, yet this curse of religion is still upon us? How long untill it becomes obsolete, that it's a minor performed activity? 20 years? 100 years? ??

And I'm not converting to my non-beliefs, I'm just tired of living in a world where the majority believe in a fairy tale, I'm sick of people telling me Jesus loves me, Jesus does not know me because he died 2000 years ago, he was not the son of God because God is imaginary!

Some new age and wiccan friends of mine believe that within less than 60 years, the role of organised religions would diminish to the sidelines.

They say that the "New Age" is here, and something about from 70s onwards the indigo children have made a comeback and being born. So this new generation, will be sharply smarter, much more analytical, and will use the powers of the mind that was given to them by the great divine to make a direct communication with the one above.

They also said that with the new millenium, the age of Female power will start to rise, which is also deemed the age of the Mind and Wisdom power. That signals the end of the Brute Force Age. An interesting theory , we will just have to wait and see I guess?

People will always need religion. It fills a place in our lives that other things can't. When we're young and invulnerable, it's easy to think God doesn't exist. But the closer we get to finding out for sure, either from naturally getting old, from illness or from being in a dangerous place, God tends to come to mind a lot more often, and sometimes it gives us comfort to think we'll be more than a meal for worms when the end comes. Religion is only a curse in the hands of the wicked. To the average person however, sometimes it can be a comfort and a source of guidance.

Religious has been perverted over the ages indeed.
You can't blame the Jesus for what the Churches have done. Read the New Testament and compare the way Jesus is to the way the world is.
I think the world is going to destroy itself before my belief in God fails me though.

Religion will never be meaningless. To me, Religion is a meaningful part of my life. I grew up in a Irish Catholic family and ever since then, I've carried the religious values with me. I've shared with my friends and I hope to share it with my nephew.

'curse of religion' there must be something to it if millions have believed for thousands of yrs as to 'being smart enough now to realize that religion is false' you sure are verbally attacking a very large group of people around the world and assuming that because you and others who are not believers are somehow beneath you or less intelligent...thats in and of itself is pretty biased..my question to you is why do you care what anyone believes....just believe what you want without trying to convert others to your beliefs....you don't like christians or their kind to be evangelical and preaching so don't you be an evangelical atheist

Its dieing quickly now....Christianity is only doing well in 3rd world countries and the good ole USA. As soon as education catches up they will also drop it because the lies become more apparent.
I give it 30 years before we see a big change. Unless of course they have a big war and kill each other off.

It will take quite a while, since there are so many people who are dependent on religion to blame for their own shortcomings. Probably at least 100 years, and most likely longer

Never. It's been going on for a reason for at least 6000 years. But of course, you have the real truth.

Sure.

Great point, I wish it could happen today!!! The same can be said for the condemnation of gays/lesbians. It reminds me of the way we treated African-Americans back in the 50's & 60's.....it won't happen soon enough for me thank you!!!!!!!!
