My Toy poodle has had puppies before and both times she has had a breeched puppy. She is pregnant now and I want to know is there a way to remove the breeched pup so it doesn't die and/or block another pup. Plus If a puppy isn't moving when it comes out is there something else i can do other than rub it with a warm towel that i can do to keep it alive? And if you answered my ? about giving a dog human milk, i was just wondering i didn't do it. I was just asking if I couldn't get milk right away.

We got books from the library the first time and it says just rotate the pup, pull and rotate. We breed dogs for a living but that was the first time that happened.

if your bi tch has a history of problems during delivery she would be best whelping at the vets office. for non moving pups wrap in a clean towel and hold firmly give several swings with pup upside down to try and rid fluid from the lungs and then mouth to snout cpr. your mouth has to completely cover the nose and mouth of the pup. count to 5 between each breath. If you feel you must give pup milk only give fresh goats milk or puppy formula.

Many puppies are born breech and that is ok. As long as the pup moves out of the birth canal things should be fine.
When the pup is out you can break the sack and rub on it with a towel to stimulate the breathing. Keep rubbing and do it firmly as it can take some time for them to breath. So give it some time to work. Also you need to clear the pups air passages hold head down and gently sort of shake or have a bulb syringe handy and use that. Clean out the moth and nose just like a human baby.
Other than that is your dog has had probelms in the past a c-section would be the best route to make sure you have healthy pups.

the puppy can be delivered, it takes a little longer and of course harder on the dog, i have a boston terrier and she always has a breech puppy just make sure when the pup is half way out hold on to the pup and GENTLY pull when she has a contraction. you have to make sure you clean the face and nose very well, and hold the puppy firmly wrapped in a towel of some kind and hold it up and with force bring it down swiftly to clear the airway, and all ways have a heating pad to keep the pups warm if it taking to long for her to have the puppies, you dont want them to get cold. and yes you can give them human milk while i was nursing my son i kept three kittens alive by pumping and feeding them my milk. the human body is an amazing thing.

How about not risking your dogs life and the puppys life and stop breeding the dog..lol gee that was simple. But if you must breed (must be a backyard breeder that gets a lot of money from puppies) Sounds like you really dont have a clue so stop breeding until you know what your doing & are more responsible

I easily have a good number of experience with this as I fostered orphaned pups on many activities. even as i replaced into able reachable rear a minimum of two pups from the muddle and keep till 8 weeks (i easily had quite a lot all the pups till 12 weeks using way the rescue labored) the outcomes were a lot more suitable functional. The pups were happier, more suitable adjusted adults. even as i'd get a singleton, they quite a lot always grew as a lot as have problems with separation rigidity and anxiety. This replaced into inspite of my different dogs round. also, even as i'd get a mom with pups, I by no skill had well-being subject matters with the pups. each muddle I had without a mom ended up having to be dealt with for respiration or intestinal an infection. i'm an organization believer that antibodies from mom kept those pups healthful. Sorry, yet your acquaintance isn't too sensible. even if it sounds such as you keep in mind that.

When it is time for the puppys to be born and it is still breeched a c-section i think that is the best way to save them all. Also some times they turn around on there own.

well first off if your poodle keeps having dificult whelps then you shouldnt keep breeding her.

if you can reach the breached pup (you can use tongs, bigger dogs you can use your hands) then you can trun it around so it can come through. (but it requires experance) it best to have a vet around when she is giving birth if you are unable to do this. or give her a cercarain in stead of a natural birth.

for strill borns you hold them with there nose pointing down and swing it between your legs. but check it airways are clear first.
