I'm against illegal immigration. It's against the law, and it's causing problems for americans. Our country's in debt, which means it's harder and harder to try to pay for all the things that people want 'for free', and the root of the problem is in Mexico, which does not get taken care of by people just running away from it.

Hard to say one way or another. Yes, proper entry into a country should be followed in a perfect world. Unfortunately, the world is not perfect and no one can choose their skin clor, nationality, or birthplace. All one can do is what hundreds of thousands do, try for something better. Isn't that how the US was founded, by immigrants trying for something better? To unilatterally condemn illegal immigrants for escaping wars, poverty, oppression, famine, disease is UN-American. They should be offered all the help they need for a better life in the US. This really should be a non-issue. There are many more urgent issues to deal with with more serious consequences than politically motivated manufactured ones. I guess you could try an old Chinese trick, build a great wall but look at where they are years later and decide if that is the answer. Close your borders, close your minds. Is that what America stands for...Offer your hand and you've a friend for life .

Anti Illegal.
Why?
I am anti illegal for several reasons.
One, I don't agree when people say we need them to pick our fruit. If illegals weren't here to pick our fruit for penny's then the farmers would have to pay more thus less unemployment for citizens of the United States.
Two, with all of the illegals in the United States it is harder for someone who is trying to gain citizenship the right way. My friend has been trying to become a citizen for 5 years by doing every thing proper. How is it fair to him that these illegals crawl across the boarder and sneak in when he works so hard.
Three, I want to add that I don't believe that they should be granted amnesty or any type of "workers program" that basically is amnesty. They need to be sent home to come back the legal way.
I am all for immigration but only if it is done the legal way.

I'm pro-illegal.I'm not completly sure if it's cause my husband is illegal or not. That kind of makes me biased,I guess. I know that I believe everyone is human and deserves a chance in life. If I was from another country and wanted a better life for my family then I would probably do what alot of others have and enter illegally if I couldn't get here legally. If it was between my families survival and breaking the law, well,I'm sorry but I'd break it.I just think about it that way. And most anyone else would do it too, they need not lie. breaking the law vs. starving kids....sorry,my kids come first. And it's sad that it would come to that for so many illegals.I think their countries need to improve their living conditions. Then maybe their ppl wouldn't want to leave.

There needs to be some accounting of people getting assistance for being in the states. It is not just a political problem. It is a mathematical, logical, and economical question. We need to separate the emotional part from the rationality of the situation. I guess I'm anti-illegal and pro-logic.

If anything is illegal, you should be against it. I would like to see weed legalized, but for now it's illegal and I can't feel totally bad about people getting busted for it (the time they serve is totally horrendous though)
As for illega immigrants, I think that a system has to be put together where mexican workers get to drive into America to do work and then go straight back home. If you want to live here, you have to do it the hard way.

Anti Illegal/Pro legal. It's not about a person's culture so much as it is speaking English and paying taxes.

Very definitely ANTI! These illegals are all criminals! What the hell gives them the right to cut in front of other people trying to come here the legal way? I think anyone sneaking across our borders should be shot!

If you are referring to illegal aliens coming into our country while so many people are playing by the rules and jumping through the necessary hoops to become American citizens, then I would be inclined to say that I am anti-illegal.
That said, I also must indicate that I am not anti-human.
I believe that everyone of us is born with the same needs and potential desires. I have been to 3rd world countries and can tell you that we as Americans are so much more than fortunate to be where we are. It is no surprise to me that people from less prosperous nations want to come over and realize the opportunity to succeed in life.
My opposition to illegal entry is based simply upon the unfair nature of the practice. Regardless of the work they are willing to do (and that is not even true of all of them), there is a process that they must go through in order to become a legal, contributing member of our great society. Millions of people have naturalized properly and are doing it as I write this. What a slap in the face to those people who filled out all the forms, stood in all the lines and followed all the instructions. I am not sure what the entire process entails, but I know it is not an insurmountable task, especially when the payoff is so big.
What do we do with the illegals currently living in our country? That is a very difficult question to answer. Obviously we can't send them home. So many variables to consider there. Long story short, it would be heartless to send them packing and logistically it would be nothing short of a nightmare if we did.
I believe we should make the current illegal residents submit themselves to the proper process and become legal citizens.
Furthermore, I strongly support strengthening the security at our borders to prevent further exploitations of America's giant social welfare program (to name only one of the services that is unduly burdened by illegal aliens).
We all want a good life, but in order for this country to be a place where this life is possible we need to adhere to a system that at least helps to ensure that we are able to sustain our population. Resources and space are limited. I don't believe that we can sustain the world. Control measures must be implemented and enforced. Last but not by any nature the least............. Work. Work. Work. I do not work everyday and pay my taxes so that capable people can choose to circumvent the system and or use it for their own selfish needs. You (assuming you are a citizen) pay for it too. Would you like to pay for me to live out a fantasy life, void of any real responsibility? If so, please contact me. I will gladly hop on to your gravy train......oh wait a minute, I have too much pride and character for that.
Anyway......
We must remember that a great deal of these people came to our country because the situation in their own country did not allow for even the most basic of life's needs to be met. I want for them to have what we have, but it needs to be done right.
There are a lot of considerations related to this subject. I only chose one facet of this issue because I have to get back to work. There are still plenty of people who are waiting for my tax money to make it to their mailbox. This unfortunately is not limited to the illegals. I see plenty of American citizens sponging off the system as well, but that is another story entirely.

I think immigrants have made our country great, but that they should come here legally.
We should take the best and the brightest from the rest of the world - from wherever they are - but control the process.
Call me pro-immigrant, but anti ILLEGAL immigrant.
