There are a lot of good suggestions here. Here's another: Say the Serenity Prayer to yourself, over and over if necessary, until you feel calmer. It works for a lot of people, including me.

God, Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

If depression and anxiety are getting in the way of your work, maybe you should go see your Dr and tell him/her whats been going on. You may need to go on a medication. Remember, this is a chemical imbalance and there are some great medications out there. You shouldn't have to suffer. Good Luck

Is your diagnosis correct? Maybe your medicine isn't working correctly and anxiety and depression are products of another underlying condition. See a psychologist. From personal experience, it seems they are better at diagnosing any mental health problem better than a family practice doctor. They are unable to prescribe drugs so they take the time to find the real base of the problems. Then they can refer you to another doctor if they think medicine will help....good luck. :)

Medication...I felt bad that I needed medication but then the director and one of the teachers told me over our early morning chat what medication they were on. My employer was taking the same medication for anxiety and depression as I was. None of the three of us are still at that job. But I still take my medication. Life is stressfull. Also I pray for God's help A LOT.

Organise yourself. At the start of the day, make a list of things you need to accomplish and tick them off as you go. You'll get a real sense of achievement.
Drink plenty of water!!!!! THIS WORKS!!!
Don't forget to breathe.
Have a laugh.
Know that poor sad people on answers are thinking about you.
And take some time off if you need it.

Is it something at work that is causing the anxiety or is it merely that it happens at work?

If the former, see what precipitates the attack; if the latter, perhaps time your medication so it kicks in at the time that you are anxious.

you do need to enjoy your work as life is too short.......getting depressed over things may take time depending on how it started. try to find an enjoyable conversation with a co-worker or a client, etc.......think of the things that are going well in your life......think of the fun stuff, fun times etc......hope this helps......HAVE A NICE DAY
