When they've stopped nursing, or when the mother stops it,,,if in fact you have the mother. If you don't have the mother thay've already lost so much of what they need in the initial growing stage as long as 6 to 8 weeks.

The issue is as much about the nurturing they need, as it is any food or colostrum they require.

The Proper Time Frame Is 6To 8 Weeks. So You Can Make Sure That They Are Eating And Drinking on Their Own. People Who Might Inquire Them Will Also Be Looking For Kitty Litter Trained, Which They Should Be By That Time. After That Time They Will Be ready To Go To Good Homes.

8 weeks of age is the earliest, 12 weeks would be better. Don't just give them away, see if you can work with a rescue group to have the adopted into loving homes. Believe me, the horror stories of kittens as well as puppies that were freebees would make you sick. People use them for pitt bull bait, they will sell them to research facilities, I have heard of people using free kittens as crab bait. So be very, very careful when you place these babies in someone elses care.

it is never ok to give kittens away - people who take free kittens are often the lowest class of people - the ones looking to sell them to research labs or to use to train their illegal fighting dog to kill - or to use as free snake food... these people know what they are doing and will come to your house looking like a nice family
often people who take free kittens do not vaccinate deworm or look after the kitten as well as a person who has invested money - in cities where cats can be impounded for roaming the average age of strays is under 1 year, it is beleived 80% of these were "free kittens" and since a person has to pay to recover them - they are abandoned and the person just goes and gets another free one

a good owner will go to the SPCA or similar shelter and adopt and would never accept a free one - so why would somebody accept a free one? if they were turned down for adoption do you think that its ok for them to take one of yours??

take your kittens to the SPCA so they can screen potential new owners and make sure the kittens are cared for - and spayed or neutered to end the cycle of too many kitties

really kittens shouldnt go to new homes untill they are vaccinated...and shouldnt leave mom until 7-8 weeks of age

it is not okay to rehome kittens at 6 weeks! they could desire to be a minimum of 10 weeks previous, ideally 12 weeks. Your mom is probably no longer conscious that in basic terms with the aid of fact kittens have all started to consume and use the muddle container that they are waiting - a techniques from it. they ought to nevertheless bypass in direction of the weaning technique this is a technique lasting till the kittens are 10 weeks or older. They no longer purely want their mom's milk in this time however the flexibility of weaning itself is an significant area of kittens' behavioral progression. in the time of the weeks of weaning they locate out approximately waiting, coping with frustration, and coping with the needs of others. those weeks too are significant in socialization and the mum and sibling kittens are all area of this. Kittens learn with the aid of their interactions the thank you to act appropriate, be acquaintances, the thank you to no longer chew and scratch. in addition they'll finished their muddle container guidance. At 6 weeks they could have all started despite if this is going to take some weeks extra in the previous they're a hundred% knowledgeable. and that they want their mom for that. Please do no longer rehome the kittens at 6 weeks. this is faulty, undesirable, and inhumane.
