Evolution is taught in science class because it's science. It's capable of being disproven, although it hasn't yet. It's hypotheses are testable. It's still the best theory out there. There is plenty of evidence for evolution.

Creationism shouldn't be taught in science class because it isn't science. It doesn't allow for the possibility that it might be wrong. It doesn't allow for testing of its hypothesis. It cannot be replicated. Most schools don't have creationism in their curriculum. In fact, the Supreme Court has ruled that Creationism and Intelligent Design are NOT to be taught in schools. So unless you're in a private school or home-tutored, you shouldn't have too worry about it. Most schools do not have to teach evolution and creationism.

Both are theories but evolution has some basis in scientific fact. The notion of "creationism" as such was fabrication by religious zealots trying to discredit scientific fact.

I have a problem with religious fanaticism being taught in schools as fact. This is precisely what happens in Islamic schools and you can see the result every time a terrorist bomb goes off..

Homework is essential, unless you want to go to school 12 months a year.
Most people want to figure out where they came from. Creation makes the most sense. There are creation "models" that have science to back them up.

Ahh. The key here is Homework I think.. Evolution is a theory that has TONS of evidence. I'd venture to say that it's not really a theory at all. It's simply referred to as such to appease the religious right, who're ticked off that their ideals are not blindly accpeted by everybody.

Evolution which has mostly been discredited was developed to discredit christianity. People still come up wierd theories to replace discredited theories. Evolution is the biggest fraud perpetrated on mankind. And no one tells you that this is a theory with no facts to back it.

Creationism has never been disproven. People have tried to. No one has succeeded so far.

They teach because they either want to shove it down you throat or they want to make you think about how it happened. Come up with your own idea.
