You'll have to come up with a better reason than money...you've allowed him to "use" you and your money this long....that'd be a lame reason to dump him.

You have already started a vicious circle. Is he looking for a job or just complaining? I think you shouldn't be helping him financially because 1/ he could feel that your think that he is not good enough to make money by himself or 2/ he is just taking advantage of your good nature. However if he is trying hard to find a job, you should be patient and give him a period in which your finantial support will be withdrawn. I think the best advice for any woman out there is NOT TO MIX BUSINESS WITH FEELINGS

Man I wish I had a girlfriend like you! Seriously though, you need to go on more than just money. If he's trying to get a job that's one thing, but if he's just hanging out while you support him, that's another. You sound like a really terrific and understanding girl! You might want to find somebody who would be better served by the type of love and patience you have to offer.

Tell him to call you back when he gets a job and can pay for his own stuff. If you really like him and he likes you, he will go get a job and get that straightened out. Beware of the guys that go get a job long enough to get you off their back, but always have some crazy situation that makes him lose or quit his job too.

Speak with him about it, if you find he is making excuses then he probably is using you. It might be that he likes you but is just lazy, therefore borrowing your money is the easy quick fix for him. Don't give him any money, wait for him to ask for it and see how frequently he does it and what he uses the money for. If he only asks for a bare minimum and spends it on bills then then its probably ok, but if he asks for quite a lot at any one time and spends it on beer then he is using you.
