Why won't more black people adopt?

Question

Some people argue that people who aren't black shouldn't adopt black children, yet a very low percentage of black people adopt kids. The National
Association of African American Social Workers worked to dispel black children being adopted by different races in the early 80s and ever since then the number of black children in foster care has doubled. I feel they need a family, no matter what color.

I myself plan to adopt as many kids as I can after I am married, and I dont care what race they are. My sister is adopted and shes white and so is my little brother and hes black.

You know from a black woman's point of view I must tell you that lots of black people are willing to adopt but when the paper work is done the dig all up in your past and find any minor thing wrong!And I feel that as long as you haven't abused any children or committed any felonies that misdemeanors shouldn't matter but they do it doesn't matter if the stuff happened when you were a teenager the state always seem to find a way to hold us back!!!!

My wife is a social worker in the UK and at one time the drive for black adopters and foster parents was so succesful ended up in a situation where there were not enough white families. So, the answer is that they should work harder at getting black families to adopt.

I totally agree with you. People think that just because your not African American you can't adopt these kids if you yourself are not of the same race. One thing they don't get is that love is love no matter what race you are. These kids need that and should be adopted to a family who cares for them.

Because lady number 1 wants her land to be fertile and lady number 3 is a total lesbian. However lady 2 just wants to eat fruit with dinner. This is the leading cause for black people not adopting.
