the bill of rights allows people to be free to practice religion and the supreme court has declared that ritual sacrifice is protected, however, if health department codes are not followed they can be issued a fine. There are local ordinances that protect animals from abuse, but since most humans are carnivores it does not prohibit the killing of animals in a humane manner.

I have no idea what you are talking about.. Killing goats in the name of god? Where, who? Why? For food??

And no there is no law unless it is done just to hurt the animal

Butcheries in the business of slaughtering animals for food distribution have a license and must conform to FDA LAWS!
I think this is where your question is leading.

Wanton killing of 1,000 animals in one fell swoop falls under Animal Abuse and Cruelty Laws.

The law does require, enforce, exterminating diseased animals.

You may be referring to rituals whereby ONE animal is sacrificed in the name of their religion, and you are referring to "accumulated totals". No laws govern this.
I doubt that the law would permit 1,000 in number to be "sacrificed" at one time, even in the name of religion. I also doubt that any religion practices that.

Only USA in mind.

i think they should be convicted. Animals have life and they should be taken care of. and killing the animals not belonging to them is as good as stealing. there are laws protecting animals from being killed

that differs from place to place.
but the real question is one of ownership.
did the group own the animals?
if not thent yes charges can and will be filed.
if they did own them there's not much you can do
other than be mad.
