hmmmmm..ive wondered about the same thing myself. im a catholic christian, and i cant understand the logic of suicide bombing. what i did was i asked my theology and philosophy teachers back in univ and they said that those people who practice extreme Islam are taking some words in the Quran quite literally when they should have been taking in a figurative sense.

I'm not a Muslim, but there is a point in their Quran where Mohammed writes something to the effect that they should kill off the infidels, not allow them to live.

Our own Bible says 'suffer not a witch to live', but I really don't see people in this day and age going out and killing witches. We don't have training camps for this lol. A lot of people misunderstand the meaning behind what both Holy books are saying in those two verses.

Yes this is one that is written by humans not God..Why? It is all about fear.. There are a lot of good commendments in Quran.. As you know in general Musulmans are very religious.. And because of that .. they know that it's possible that other people that their kind don't follow the same belifs... So they prefere to prevent then to be the victims .. Anyhow ... I'm sure that killing from the part of muslims was and is possible to be applied for muslims as well..
There are know cases about muslim people whom suffered rong done because of rong religious belifs... I think that this is possible for all kind of religion .. And we can't say about all muslims that belive in killing nonmuslims..:) .. In the end I have a confesion .. I haven't read the Qoran.. and it is possible that this ideea of kiling doesn't even exist.. Sorry if I made a mistake in expressing something rong.. It was because of lack of data.. Take good care of you :) Thank you :)

The Quran and Islamic belief do not teach that killing is OK. It is radical extremists who take the beliefs and manipulate them and misunderstand them.

Keep in mind, there are a lot of examples of violence and bloodshed in the christian bible too. It is just how you interpret it that's important.

PS> before you judge the extremists of the Islamic religion, take a look at the extremists of our own culture..... Timothy McVeigh, Ted Bundy, Jeffrey Dahmer, etc etc.... nothing to be proud of. I'm sure other Muslims feel the same way about the extremists of their culture.

The Quran is the unchanged be responsive to Allah and that i trust a number of your factors which questions the Quran.... despite if Muhammed exchange into taught with the aid of the Angels that got here to him on the mountain the thank you to study so purely some clarifying there :) The Bible exchange into no longer written with the aid of God and that i agree this is an quite unsupported, literal e book that may actual be fake and that i think of this is as there i ought to write a e book asserting i will preform a majority of those miracles and Jesus is me on earth.... yet there is 0% evidence of any of this.... in assessment to the Quran the place evidence can definitely be got here across as supported with the aid of the vast Bang as in the Quran it does state what technology is now sorting out... :) x

Technically, the muslims believe in a different God. Christians and muslims both mistakenly believe our roots are the same, but they are mistaken. There's good information at www.chick.com /information/religions/islam /#worship . See the section about the moon god

Islam strictly prohibits the killing of muslims or non-muslims. It is one of the biggest sins in Islam. But it is permitted to kill in self-defense. This has nothing to do with non-muslims or muslims. All legal systems of the world allow this. In Islam, even animals have rights.

Does Islam Tolerate Other Beliefs?

The Qur'an says: "God forbids you not, with regards to those who fight you not for [your] faith nor drive you out of your homes, from dealing kindly and justly with them; for God loveth those who are just." (Qur'an,60 :8)

It is one function of Islamic law to protect the privileged status of minorities, and this is why non-Muslim places of worship have flourished all over the Islamic world.

History provides many examples of Muslim tolerance towards other faiths: when the caliph Omar entered Jerusalem in the year634 , Islam granted freedom of worship to all religious communities in the city.

Islamic law also permits non-Muslim minorities to set up their own courts, which implement family laws drawn up by the minorities themselves.

When the caliph Omar took Jerusalem from the Byzantines, he insisted on entering the city with only a small number of his companions. Proclaiming to the inhabitants that their lives and property were safe, and that their places of worship would never be taken from them, he asked the Christian patriarch Sophronius to accompany him on a visit to all the holy places.

The Patriarch invited him to pray in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, but he preferred to pray outside its gates, saying that if he accepted, later generations of Muslims might use his action as an excuse to turn it into a mosque.
