Very carefully as I expect whats happening to him right now, is the most important thing, that has ever happened to him ( yes more Important than you), so do`nt be surprised if he will not tell you anything, you will just have to be patient with him

Definately girl trouble. I remember 8th grade dances!!!! I once turned down this guy for a slow dance and the look on his face was total devestation.. I was a real ***** back then...Unless he starts acting depressed, I wouldnt' push the issue too much. He may just have to work things out by himself.

Ask him how the dance was.. and think of any problems that you can think of that might have happened that wouldn't be a big deal like.. "Did you have enough money to get a snack.. was the music good, did you dance.. blah blah blah.." Then when you think he doesn't want to talk about anything else.. tell him " If you want to talk to me about anything at all, then I'm here."
He's what.. about 13-14?.. if it's girl trouble.. he's not going to talk to you about it.. but what you CAN do .. is let him know that you are there to talk about anything else he wants and that you're not going to judge. He might be embarassed to talk about a girl.. or he might think you won't understand.

If you have a close relationship, I mean, you talk about different issues and stuff he's going through, then I guess he won't have a problem to tell you what's wrong.
But if you don't, then I think you should give him some time and space. I'm at your son's age, and I know I would personally rather to be alone, and get over it by myself.
