Personally, I am not into yoga. It's probably because of my age and conditioning (or lack of). However, it is a great way to stretch muscles and calm the mind.
I'm more into the methods of Kit Laughlin and his book "Overcome Neck And Back Pain". He combines several disciplines including yoga, shiatsu, chiropractic, and others into a simple to use group of stretching exercises designed to optimize back and neck health.

Yoga has two aspects to it. Usually it is the physical aspect that is widely taught. It consists of various Asanas, with some respiratory coordination. That keeps one healthy, supple and youthful.
The most important part of yoga is the Meditation. It starts with sitting postures, Pranayama (deep breathing) and finally meditation. That is highly beneficial in honing intellectual and mental skills. Helps keep an even temper and be creative. Ultimately, it leads to spiritual evolution.
So, Yoga indeed is good to anyone who wants to get better, whatever their stage in life.

Yeah, but you must be able to have time for it on a regular basis if you want it to work for you. Yoga once in a while won't do...
