i cant understand you question very well , but i can understand the 2nd part of it , about egypt , and as an egyptian i can answer this part .

israel , supported very heavily by USA attacked all the arab countries neighbour to it at 1967 , yes egypt threaten to attack , but what happened is that the russians called Nasser , the egyptian leader at that time , told him you have to take the first strick from israel ,otherwise we wont be able to support you politically (at that time egypt was pro soviets, then it changed to USA at mid seventies) , but the strick was devastating , it was one strick destroyed all the egyptian army , airports , everything in saina , also the same happened to syria and jordan , and at the egyptian front they took all of siana peninsula at stayed at the suez canal , and hammared the towns besie the canal , killed lots of civilians ( as usual)

after that they considered sainai as a part of israel(as usual) and build a colony (settelement) there , and brought (innocent) civilians (as usual) and stolen the oil of sainia to themselves (as usual) , but what was not as usual is that they build a huge long line of defence at the canal bank which is 17 meters hight (about 60 feets ) full of bunkers and weabons and can see the other side very well , plant Nabalm (forbidden weabon) fire bombs in pipes the canal, so that if there were a crossing they just push the bottom and the canal is on hell .
and said that it needs a nuclear weabon to cross the canal.

so the egyptian victory was, in order to free back it's occupyed terretory, the egyptians destroyed israels air ports in sainai by a big sudden air raids, stopped that Nabalm (by diving engeners) , the egyptian army crossed the canal under fire , invaded that line and took it , and when the israeli army approached with dozens of tanks, (the egyptian tanks werent there yet) the soldiers attacked the tanks by only RBG shoulder missiles , and bombs , and defeat them , in the next day israel tried to attack with new jets , but shocked by the heavy anti aircraft from the egyptians , so they couldn't do anything , and lost many jets , then when egyptian tanks crossed in the third day , by bridges built for that , the real israeli heavy army came with hundreds of tanks, but when it clashed with the less modern tanks of egypt , the egyptian tanks won and israel defeat once again and lost many many tanks and withdrawl from the battelfield , and egypt captured a big israeli colonel , but at the mountains in the deep of sainai , the egyptian army stopped by the defences there.

the attack was from 2 fronts , egypt and syria ( to free Syrian Golan hights) but what happened is that when egypt stopped at that time , israel directed all of it's power against the weaker front , Syria and defeat them .

at that time israel prime minister Golda Maeere , called the american president , cried to him saying "we are losing israel, save israel" and Nixon orderd "send anything that can fly" so USA sent an ultra huge renforcments to Israel , used all of it's sattalites to tell israel everything about locations of the egyptians , compensate israel for every loss, while Egypt , the poor , and packed from no body can't compensate it's loses .

after israel finish syria , it, by the help of american satalites, knew a weak points between the both wings of the egyptian army , so the passed through it and secretly crossed the canal with ew tanks , then more and more , until they put an army in the egyptian side and begain to attack egypt from inside , and the egyptian army was trapped in sainai , where (by the help of USA , israel regained it's air control ) at that point , president Sadat of egypt said " i won over israel , but now it seems that i am fighting the united states , and i am not capable to fight USA " and he agreed to the seise fire , and the israeli army withdrawled from inside egypt , while the egyptian lands egypt took never withdraw from them ( if israel won , how would egypt possibly gain lands by a war they defeat at ?)

so they defeated in that war , but got super heavy help from USA , to show they are not completely defeated
