Is it an both, or concept? The Bible says that guy changed into created a touch less than the angels - so in that way they're closer. however, God under no circumstances became an angel, and under no circumstances died to keep them - so in that way we are closer. We were made in clone of God, no longer angels. those who worship angels, might want to be a similar as worshipping an animal, a heavenly merchandise, a plant, or yet another human. The created ought to no longer worship the created, yet in case you'll worship, worship the author. we are all created by using God, angels and human beings a like.

Angels are just messengers. We are the important dignitaries they have to deliver messeges to. Once God sets up a good wireless system he'll just ditch the angels. After all we were created in his image and not the angels. And some angels became devils, but no man has ever managed to be so bad (except Bush, Hitler and Pol Pot)

If you're thinking Xtian here, Man is definitely, scripturally anyway, closer to God. See Genesis - we are "created in [God's] image".
Angels don't have free will - hence, they are not in God's image. We are more like God than the angels are, therefore we are closer to him.
Also, think of it this way - the Church (which is made up of people) is Christ's Bride, his counterpart - unlike the angels, who are more part of God's "staff". God loves us and wants a personal relationship with us.

I think the answer is man. I say this from my understanding of the concept of angels in the Semitic religions --- Judaism, Christianity and Islam. The angels are created to work for God. They obey God under all circumstances and have no free will of their own. God gave man a free will of his own --- So obviously God elevated him in status above the angels. This is because God wants His creation to worship Him voluntarily. Voluntary woship is the best and most genuine form of worship. Since angels are bound to worship God, God surely loves mankind more for their belief in Him .

Well, angels are closer to God, since they're currently in Heaven, and we're not. They were created before we were. They're more powerful than we are. I'm sure they've been with God throughout his eternal past (just a guess). But, don't forget that a third of God's angels "fell" from heaven after following Satan. Personally, I think he loves all of his creation (including angels) equally. And that's why he wants us to be there in heaven with him, and with the whole heavenly host of angels.

No.
God first created Jesus. Then the angels. They are in a ranking order by the way. Then God created the heavens and earth. In Job, it tells us the angels witnessed the creation and applauded God. Then God created the things about and on the earth. Then he created man.
The angels are very important to us. God uses them to do anything from delivering messages to destroying armies. One angel killed 85000 soldiers in one night. Coffee hasn't worked on me yet, and I can't remember where in the Bible that is at, but it is a faith building record for us.

Paul writes in his letter to the Romans that in accepting Jesus you are now a 'co-heir' with Him - a son on the same level as him, and in line for the same inheritance... (which i think puts you way above the angels, mate.)
