FOR CENTURIES, Christians have recognised Islam as a false religion. Until recently Muslims (or Mohammadans as they have been known in the past) have been the focus of evangelistic outreaches. But today many people are considering Islam from a more ecumenical point of view. It is often said that Christians, Jews, and Muslims are worshipping the same God, but in different ways. Muslims have capitalized on this misconception and now urge Christians and Jews to worship the one God with them, and work together for solutions to the world's many social problems. It is important to know some of the history and false doctrines of Islam, and to reject the new approach of this fast growing religion.

Islam began about 600 A.D. in what is modern Saudi Arabia. The religion of Islam has as its focus of worship a deity by the name of "Allah." The Muslims claim that Allah in pre-Islamic times was the biblical God of the Patriarchs, prophets, and apostles. The issue is thus one of continuity. Was "Allah" the biblical God or a pagan god in Arabia during pre-Islamic times? The Muslim's claim of continuity is essential to their attempt to convert Jews and Christians for if "Allah" is part of the flow of divine revelation in Scripture, then it is the next step in biblical religion. Thus we should all become Muslims. But, on the other hand, if Allah was a pre-Islamic pagan deity, then its core claim is refuted. From its dubious beginnings, Islam has grown to approximately a billion adherents worldwide. For centuries Islam has exerted a great deal of influence over the people of the Middle East and Africa, even dominating southern Europe for a time. Today Islam is endeavoring once again to have a significant influence upon the culture and society of the Western World.

The new image Islam is trying to present in the West is a far cry from the fanaticism and violence advocated by many Muslim leaders. Nevertheless, the devotion of Muslims in the West to Islamic principles is as uncompromising as any in the world. The presentation of Islam in Europe and North America is characterized by intellectualism rather than emotionalism. The irrational religious frenzy by which Islam has become recognized worldwide is covered by a facade of civility. Yet, Muslims around the world concur that Islamic laws and principles take precedence over the decency and morality of civilization.

When god creates people, why does he create dipshits like you with so much time on their hands?... and not only that, for some reason, he puts you under the impression that you know it all.

"Allah" is a generic name for God. It comes from the Arabic word Al-ilah (The God). The god that pagans worshipped was "the moon god". The Allah that we worship is the Creator of the moon and everything else in this universe. Here is a verse from the Qura'n (which I have already mentioned as an answer to another ignorant question):

"Among His Signs are the Night and the Day, and the Sun and the Moon. Do not prostrate to the sun and the moon, but prostrate to Allah, Who created them, if it is Him ye wish to serve." (41:37)

So as for your acusation that we worship some pagan God, that is a load of crap. As far as whether we worship the same God as christians n jews are concerned, then yes, but the main difference between Jews and Muslims is that Jews do not believe in the prophets after the Jewish prophets, including Muhammad and his teachings...and the christians beileve in trinity whereas we believe in the oneness off God.

As far as "fanatascim" and Islam are concerned, don't look at the religious beliefs of those who carry out these inhuman acts... if you want to start judging an entire religion by the actions of a few...I strongly suggest you look up the deeds of Adolf Hitler for instance...

And hey....YOU MUST KNOW THE FACTS....so stop crapping outa ur mouth and do some actual reading to really find out about the facts.....Make it harder for people like me to own your a*se

Islam is a religion that says there are 3 holy books (Bible, Torah, and Quran) so it doesn't deny the existence of other relgions or beliefs. Instead, it says that Christians and Jews were given the chance to go on the "right way" but they chose the wrong way. Christians through Jesus and Jews through Moses. This is particularly pointed out in the first surah of the quran that says "eeh dinas siratal mustakeen.. siratalazina anamta alaihim..ghairel magdubi alaihim waladaauleen." (show me the way who you are pleased with.. not those who have made you angry a.k.a Christains and not those who have gone astray a.k.a Jews)

Islam is growing like it is said in the Quran. A lot of things that scientists have "just found out" are written clearly in the Quran. You just have to go open up and read...

The image Islam is trying to present is actually true. Muslim leaders and terrorists are messing up the Islamic name but Islam is actually a lot different than what they show it to be. It just depends on how much you hear the "rumors." It depends on how much knowledge you try to gain from facts and how much you want to learn..

Oh and I got a question.. where did you get all these interesting "facts" ? How much have you looked into the Quran?

Allah is not a pagan God ,
Quran proves - "Allah" is NOT a pagan 'moon god':

"And from among His Signs are the night and the day, and the sun and the moon. Do not bow down (prostrate) to the sun nor to the moon, but only bow down (prostrate) to "Allah" Who created them, if you (really) worship Him." [Quran 41:37]

The Qur'ân answers this question before you asked it. Read this verse:

They ask you about the new moons. Say: These are signs to mark fixed periods of time for mankind and for the pilgrimage (Qur'ân 2:189).

The word "Allah" literally means itself, "The only one worthy to be worshipped".

"Say: ‘Call upon Allah, or call upon Rahman: by whatever name ye call upon Him, (it is well): for to Him belong the Most Beautiful Names....‘"
[Al-Qur’an 17:110]

The word Allah means God in Arabic, you can check any arabic bible if you have the time.

And, Sir would you be kind enough to show some evidence to these "facts" ?

I was interested, at first, at the length of your question and hoped to find some source of intelligence in it and now I feel retarded for wasting my time and even more confused over the most talked about religion today. your "knowledge" of this religion is greatly overshadowed by you lack of writing and written structure skills. I am learned nothing from this.
