Yaah

In an age torn by hatred, war and strife among the races, many of us look back to religion for guidance to peace and brotherhood and are disappointed when we find in most of them intolerance and narrowness of spirituality.

However, man has changed this original teaching of Oneness and developed out of numerous mutually antagonistic sects. As Allah says in the Holy Qur'an, the revelation of Allah to Prophet Muhammad, praise and peace be upon him: "Surely this your brotherhood is a single brotherhood, and I am your Lord, so keep your duty unto Me. But they (mankind) split themselves up in sects, each party rejoicing in its own tenets." Chapter 23:52-53.

Islam still preserves this teaching of the Oneness of God and the brotherhood of all mankind. Islam seeks to implement this spirit among all races, and yet, at the same time, remains tolerant and respectful of all other heavenly religions and their followers who share the belief in the One and only God. The Holy Qur'an teaches: "There is no compulsion in religion. The right direction stands out clearly from error. Whoever rejects false dei- ties and believes in Allah has grasped a firm handhold that never breaks, and Allah hears and knows all things." Chapter 2:256

The Meaning of Islam
It is false to call Islam Muhammadanism, as has been done so frequently in the West. We have already pointed out that Muslims believe that Islam is the eternal message which Allah sent to all prophets, peace be upon them, from the dawn of mankind, and noto a new belief which began with the Prophet Muhammad, praise and peace be upon him. Muslims call their religion Islam, and the Arabic word Islam implies the attainment of peace through submission to Allah. The word Muslim is an adjective derived from the noun Islam, and implies one who has peace within himself from his submission to Allah.

Muslims believe in the One, Eternal God, Who created the heavens and the earth and all that exists. In Arabic, God is called Allah. There is absolutely no difference between Allah and the God of Abraham, Moses and Jesus, peace be upon them all. Muslims do not believe that Prophet Muhammad was the only Prophet; rather they believe that he was the last of the Prophets of the Old and New Testaments. The Holy Qur'an is the revealed and sacred scripture of Islam, and it teaches: "Say (O Muslims), "We believe in Allah and what has been revealed to us and what was revealed to Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac and Jacob and the tribes, and that which Moses and Jesus received, and that which the Prophets received from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them and unto Him have we surrendered." Chapter 2:136.

Yes. In fact, Islam IS the religion. If you count on what your media or the American media to be able to know the truth about Islam, then you are entering the brainwashing machine, just like most of the comments above and maybe below me.

In order to fully answer this question objectively and without the interfere of others opinions being imposed on you with some sound and visual effects, you have to study the history of Islam to know how did it change the world, and introduced the concept of peace. Those who claim that it is a terrorist religion, should first of all check the meaning of the word ISLAM in their Oxford dictionary. Then they should study the history of their religion if there is any.

Islam is the only religion that believes in all Prophets, and it is the only religion that gives answers to ALL life issues. The decisions in Islam are not in the hand of one Pop. All Muslims are equal.

This was nothing but a brief defense. Don't take Islam from its enemies.

Every religion has a right to receive a fair trial. I do not think that any religion should be judged by its followers. If my new car meets with an accident, whom should I blame, the driver or the car? Obviously the driver! It is the same with every religion. As far as associating terrorism with any religion, I think it is a very foolish thing to do. Half a century back, there was a Christian man who ended up killing thousands of innocent people. Yes, I am talking about Adolf Hitler. So should we say that Christianity is also a terrorist religion? No, we shouldn't because we know Christ's message --- Love thy neighbour. I'm sure its the same way with Islam. The fact is that if human beings follow their own ulterior motives and give it the name of religion, it does not mean that the religion is bad. Every religion should be judged by its own scripture on its own merit. Who knows that maybe the Quran speaks of something completely contrary to the common practice. So it is quite possible that Islam is the best religion --- But we can only be sure after knowing the truth about that religion and getting an unbiased view about it.

I cannot imagine Islam being the best religion since that religion has caused so much destruction in the world. Probably the world would be better off with no religion but that will never happen because people cannot think for themselves and need to be told what to do.

Religion is subjective. Judaism is the best religion. Christianity is the best religion. Hinduism is the best religion. Islam is the best religion.

A religion has to fit the person. It is like a glove. You would not buy a glove that didn't fit. So people go toward religions that meet their needs- And when they find a religion that meets those needs and fits for them, they have found the best religion.

All religions can be the best religion, depending on a person's needs and beliefs.

So yes, Islam is the best religion. So is Judaism. So is Christianity. So is every religion.

Yes, Islam is the best religion sent down by God.

Muslims are the best people when they practice Islam. Unfortunately, most Muslims do not practice Islam and give it a bad name.

All religion and all lack thereof is the best religion. Except for any religion that encourages harming of others, which wouldn't be a real religion if you ask me. Islam is the best religion to Muslims, Zoroastrianism to Zoroastrians, atheism to atheists and Wicca to Wiccans. To me all god(s) and no god are one and the same. Good people get what they want when they die. Whether it's a giant never ending party or a monastic life of prayer and porridge. But bad people go to hell, no matter what.

There is no such thing as a best religion. Islam is good, but the followers misinterpret its meaning by promoting violence, and that is not good. Unless Muslims could see that the majority of people on Earth wanted peace, it will not work.

On what criteria you define best?
To me the answer is yes Islam is not only the best but also it is the only way to happiness in this life and the eternal one. Even if Moses and Jesus son of Mary PBUT were livinig today they will just be Muslims.

If best means for you? Guess you'll have to answer that yourself.... But I don't want anyone telling me, forcing me or legislating any religion on me. The concept of "Separation of religion and state" is very important to me...Islam seems to want to take care of my salvation and legislate how I act and live. So no!!! Islam is far from a perfect religion..
