And how can we be sure we are following gods plan and always doing what he thinks is best?

God takes into account Free Will. He is eternal and omniscient and exists beyond our understanding. He has already mapped out the eternal multiplicities of all possible decisions in the universe, and is now watching these possibilities unravelling.

Don't be tempted to think that God's mind is like ours - he understands from more perspectives than we even know exist.

If you want to know God's will, pray and read Scripture. Most of all, be prepared to put others before yourself - let go of control and surrender to God's laws. Just understand that doing God's will won't always make you happy in the way you expect. God will get weird on your ***, I guarantee it.

Wow good question. I guess you have the free will to decide whether or not you want to follow God's plan. You could read the bible and learn what God wants from you. The gospels in the new testament are a great way to figure out if you are following God's plan and doing what he think is best.

God and Free Will
God and His Master Plan

The funny part is that these are two options you can take when believing god.

Free Will
Free will is only applied that which many of these people have chosen to do and that is deny God. Free will means the freedom to acknowledge the presence of god or to deny him. Once denied that is free will and you succumb to all it's plights. Free will means God doesn't force you to believe in him but rather gives you the option to not.

God's Master Plan
Now this is the cool part. If you choose to acknowledge god and accept him as the one and only then the master plan begins. this where God does his work in making your life better and helping you help yourself.

So the way it goes is Free Will to choose God or deny him

Master Plan is a result of Choosing God.

God does have a plan for everything we do and contingency plans out the wazoo for everything we do. He gives us free will to do as we wish and if we choose the wrong path there is a path further on in life that will allow us to get back on the path that god has chosen for us. The way to heaven is to be on the right path when you die, or on your way to choosing the right path..

Kind of like when your on a trip and you see your exit pass and then you're all freaked out cuz you missed your exit and then you take the next exit to go back the way you came and then you have to exit again to get back on the right road....paths can always be fixed.

As far as I can tell, the only thing Free Will allows us to decide, is whether to accept God, and his plan. And in that one choice, you only have two options. And I'm reasonably certain, that you're not supposed to make that judgement, until after you have lived your entire life.

The rest of your decisions in life are more rational, and mundane. So if you think you've made a mistake, talk to him. He'll understand...

I'd like to encourage you to take the time to look up all the Scriptures referred to. You might like to also compare the wording in different translations/versions of the Bible (see links below). With so many differing views as to what actually is acceptable worship of God, it is Imperative that we do all we can to ...

"Make Sure of All things; Hold Fast to what is Fine!" (1Th5:21)

I wasn't raised with this knowledge, even though I'd been going to church & sunday-school, & reading my Bible for years. I only found it after asking questions of various ones, and then only accepting answers that Completely Harmonize with God's Word. Many others have done likewise. The only free will you have is whether you choose to follow God or not.

From his point of view you have no free will at all.
We have but no choice to follow his plan. Even mistakes are leading us toward God.
