Obviously I'm biased (but don't forget the Scots have came up with some good stuff like Absolutely, Rab C. Nesbitt and Still Game). English humour is better as we're given more opportunity to be controversial. I don't know how The Simpsons, South Park, Family Guy and American Dad etc get away with it in the US. Conversely though: The Simpsons is perfect English humour done by Americans and Red Dwarf is perfect American humour done by the English.

I can tell that the person who wrote this question is English because the word "Humour" is spelt correctly
Of course the English have the best sense of humour in the world, although I must admit I do love some comedies that come from the US, like Friends and Seinfeld. and also the american people must have a great sense of humour, because they elected George W Bush as their president - It don't get any funnier than that.

England! We are well-known for our dry humour and quick wit. Americans don't always get the irony of our humour because our ideas of comedy are very different.
Johnathon Ross is a fine example of the British sense of humour!

England has a better sense of hum our, they got The Office, Jimmy Carr, Eddy Izzard, Little Britain, Peter Kay, Billy Connolly, Dawn French and Lenny Henry for example. Whilst America has.....The Simpsons. I believe that humour IS important.

Americans laugh at moronic things; for example a guy getting smacked with a baseball bat.
The English have a very dry sense of humour. Take Mr. Bean, for example.

The British sense of humour is the greatest. American humour can be funny as well, but it tends to lack the irony aspect.
A sense of humour is fairly important as it makes life more interesting. How crap would life be if we were all humourless?

England by far- Americans just don't do subtle humour. English humour is more more dry and sarcastic, instead of all in ur face like the americans- eg. "Oh my god like he fell over like thats sooo funny like" lol. Good example is when the americans tried to do a version of Ricky Gervais' "the Office", it was no way near as good

,If the people who answered English are correct then why are the US sitcoms so well watched? I believe there is a difference in the humour, but it does not mean one or the other is funnier. It seems to me that more American comedians do better in England that the other way round, but maybe that's due to our "Americanisation" by TV.
