I have arthritis in my right arm and shoulder. It is so painful and I know I should go to the doctor but the arm looks as though it is twisting and the muscles go into spasm which would indicate that it is. I thought arthritis it just made the joint inflammed. The doctors have told me that I do not have rheumatoid arthritis.

arthritis of shoulder is very uncommon. rheumatoid arthritis is common but as u say ur doctors have ruled out that then u should check for sero negative arthrtis. and get your neck checked for cervical symptoms as they radiate pain to shoulder and mimic arthritis of arthritis. which in fact is the most common cause of shoulder pain. iarm twists in case of peri arthritis of shoulder, which is not arthritis of bobes but inflammation of the sift tissues sorrounding the shoulder joint, like shoulder carpsule and the sorrounding tendons. it is also called frozen shoulder. this condion is pften selflimitiong and gets healed after about three weeks exceptions are cervical related frozen shoulder.

Arthritis is a disease of the joints. The only way that muscles could be affected is if you are holding the joint in a certain way to ease the pay, but it puts a undue strain on the muscle.

I have an arthritic neck and I suffer from strained neck tendons which in turn gives me headaches.
