it can be either way but i think a person who tells a lie to hurt someone will either be caught or tought a lesson. some people might lie to tell stories but i dont think the whole storie is based onlies it has to start with some truth.

Per definition, it's never intended to hurt.Truth can be hurting is a fact but daily punches makes one stronger, better and more cautious on what's acceptable & what's not.It comes in different shapes & color codings you may say to cover up even to the extent of sugarcoating but as always one can never hold a smoke in one's hand, sooner or later it will always show so I believe it's also an issue of character building as to how far one can take, let slip or just let go..
You are who you are.You know yourself better than the rest so never let those cute little lies drag you down ever.
You have a good day! :-)

Some people tell lies to hurt others. Some people tell lies for attention. Some people tell lies to get themselves out of trouble. Some people tell lies because they talk themselves into believing the lie is true, for whatever weird reason. Some people tell lies to make themselves feel important. Some people tell lies because they think people will like them better. Some people tell lies just to see if they can get by with it. Sometimes, (rarely) people who are brain-damaged tell lies and don't realize it because their brain has gaps in memory that get automatically filled in with fantasy memories.
I think I've covered most situations.

they just want to see how gullible you are and if you keep believing them then they're going to keep lieing to you and you'll end up not knowing what to believe
