Take some cold butter and slice off some slightly thick chunks.

Place the chunks atop slices of bread.

Shake cinnamon over the buttered bread slices.

Get a spoonful of sugar and sprinkle over the cinnamon bread.

Put slices in toaster oven.

Broil until butter starts to bubble and a delicate cinnamon/sugar crust is formed.

Serve with hot chocolate topped with whipped cream.

CINNAMON FRENCH TOAST CASSEROLE

1/2 cup butter
1cup brown sugar*
1 tbsp cinnamon*
bread slices**
1 1/2 cups milk
6 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
pinch salt

Melt butter in a 9x13-inch baking pan.

Mix brown sugar and cinnamon together and add to melted butter; spread over bottom of pan.

Cover with 2 layers of bread slices. beat together milk, eggs, vanilla, and salt and pour over bread slices. Refrigerate overnight.

THE NEXT DAY:
Bake 30 minutes in a 350 degree F oven.

Cut and flip over on plate when serving. No syrup necessary. And there won't be any left over!

*We like a stronger flavor, too, so we use 1 1/2 cups brown sugar and 2 tbsp cinnamon, but not everyone likes it that way. Try the original recipe first, then play with it the next time you make it.

**I've used French, English Muffin Bread, White, and Pane Italian. My mom and I liked the Italian bread. My son likes the white bread.

Use any kind of bread that you like. put it in the toaster and toast it to what ever shade you want(light or dark). Butter the toast. Put equal amounts of sugar and cinnamon on it. Or if you want, even a little more cinnamon. Whatever your taste desires. Thats it! Enjoy
