I am going for a vacation to Krabi with family and was wondering whether rainfall is as bad in Krabi as it is in India. I have heard that it can rain for 30 mins and then there is sunshine. If it rains continuously then it may not be worth going to krabi in October.

I was there last September-December. It does rain but its usually more like 3 days of rain followed by 3 days of sun. It will rain no matter when you are there. There are always random storms popping up here and there. You'll have better luck in November/December if rain is a big deal as the other person said. It's much cheaper in October though.

No one can better Mother Nature when it comes to rain. In the tropics, that is the norm. You either get rain or shine. October happens to be the end of the rain season., up to Loy Krathong Festival in early Nov. You will have to chance it. But Krabi will be lovely enough that I doubt the rain will be a spoilsport for your holiday.

Just go ahead and have a good holiday. The seafood there will be great. And if you can, head to Phi Phi Island and the surrounding islands for visits.
