Well bad news, as l do drink and drive, according to my friends in TP, once your are charged and convicted, your friend's insurance company is not liable for any repair cost caused in the accident. Hence he will be the sole bearer of the bill, and what he can do is to bring the other party's car to his workshop, and ask to pay the bill in installments. Well leasson learnt l guess.

If it's drunk driving, no insurance claim. The 3rd party will have to claim from your friend.
