Most places offer the same old chicken nuggets, sausage and chips etc. Why can't they have a half portion of all the things that are on the adult menu?

Some restaurants have a menu similar to the adults but with smaller portions.

My kids, 9 and 11, certainly have adults tastes. They both enjoy a good curry.

The companies that own and run these places put a lot of time into researching the eating preferences of ALL their consumers. They don't produce menus randomly.

The reason is because most kids are fussy little f*ckers and they don't have such a developed palette as adults. Consequently, they don't like the taste of a lot of "adult" food.

Now, before you start going off on one about how suave and sophisticated your kids are, I'm not saying this applies in 100% of cases because that would be rediculous. However, in my experience of working in the industry, it does apply in the majority of instances.

It is impossible to please all the people all the time.

However, that said...a lot of establishments now offer "adult" meals in different size portions e.g. full size or the "smaller appetite" for adults who are not really hungry but do want something to eat. These "smaller appetite" portions would be ideal for children who like to eat something more adventurous than the standard kids' options.

Not all places are doing this yet, but it is becoming more popular. Keep an eye out for it.

Most restaurants calculate the cost (and their profit) of a meal by the size of the portion. Smaller portions for most adult dishes are not cost effective to produce for smaller appetites.

If I'm cynical, then the profit margin on fish fingers and chips is higher that on a steak and chips for example. Therefore, it's in the restaurants favour to have a child's menu.

Besides, most kids these days don't like 'adult' food but prefer to eat Turkey Twizzlers because they look 'cool'. The restaurants are only catering for what kids generally eat today.

Most children are adverse to trying new foods. Because of that, restaurants try to offer some basic foods that are familiar to the average American child's pallet. Most resturants will accomdate a request for a regular menu item at half portions, or you can always take home a "doggie" bag of the left overs if they don't.

In my local pub which does rather good food I notice that on the menu there is a selection of dishes which can be ordered as either main or modest plates. I haven't looked at the Childrens menu but this is a good idea for everyone as you do not waste money and good food!

Emotional abuse isn't comparable to actual abuse in the way it impacts the guy being abused. a infant who's verbally abused via a determine will commonly sense as though they are to blame for each little thing. they might substitute into withdrawn or they might lash out at others. The direction they're going to pass in and how their habit alters relies upon on the newborn's very own nature. this will additionally confirm (to a great quantity) the direction their habit will shop on with as adults. they might, in turn, substitute into emotionally abusive to their very own little ones. they might choose for to not have little ones. they might attempt to evade relationships for concern of being abused lower back, or for concern that they're going to substitute into abusers. they might not sense "worth" of love and could seek for abusive varieties to sort relationships with. some might seek for help to come again to words with having been an abused infant, and could be greater concious of their strikes and for that reason destroy the cycle of abuse. Abuse in any sort will pass away lasting injury. More to the point: In restaurants why can't children behave themselves like adults (always assuming that the adults themselves know how to behave in restaurants!)

As far as I know they can. However, as children have different palates and appetites than adults, there are children's choices. These are usually for ease of the adults and not for the children's convenience.
