Its a classic philosophical question.

It's well known that proving something exists is possible (as there will be physical evidence), but proving that something does not exist is not possible (because there will be no evidence). The philosophy comes in when deciding which question to ask.

Thus the question "does God exist?" is resolvable only if He already does exist, and not resolvable if He doesn't.

So here is a question: Is there an invisible little green man in the corner of my office? Hard to prove either way.

In the case of TV, it's more like the concept doesn't exist.

There was gravity before the concept of gravity existed, and atom did exist before we ever had a concept of the atom. On the other hand, some people had the concept of the internet before it did exist and Edison did have a concept of a lightbulb shortly before the lightbulb actually existed.

The concept of God exists, whether God actually exists is another matter.

Hell ya! I'm sure when Ponce de Leon returned to Spain and the King of Spain made him a Captain General he said "damn..if the f'in TV was invented now they could be watching this event in Bimini on C-Span!"
No doubt.

Of course you can ask,but don't expect anyone answering you or think you sane... If we would stop wondering about things that don't exist,we would be machines doing what they are told... A teacher of mine told me that intelligent people always ask "why?" and never stop wandering about what surrounds them... People who ask about non-existing things, though regarded as crazy and stupid, might be the ones opening up a new era... So ask everything you want, because that is the true way of being free!

Well of course you can ask about things that don't exist. How else will they ever be invented/proven to exist?

Do you have any idea how much speculation there was when gravity was identified?
