No, it's a good question. It's the same for me. I'm in the San Gabriel Valley (near you) and it's just as hot. 80 F as the overnight low? Way too hot! I miss Fall and Winter.

it is not a dorky question,
i live in Long Beach, and it is so hot and humid and my house is hot and outside is hot, i went to the supermarket and hung around for two hours, it was a little cooler
anyway i am not far from L.A. it is ickie.
i keep taking off my top, soaking it in ice water, wring it out and put it back on,, it helps for about ten minutes

here in southern california it is 103 degrees at normal. at night around 80 something. last week i heard that we broke a record of 40 days in 100+ weather. sizzling!

its 10 am monday and its already 90 degrees, ya its hot enough, can you imagine the other day in woodland hills at 109 degrees

in the 90s and high humidity in the Seattle area.
Places here don't have AC cuz it never gets this hot.
