There are some articles on yoga for people with scoliosis on the Yoga Journal website. Yoga instructor Elise Browning Miller wrote an article about her experience with using yoga to "remediate" her scoliosis; its an interesting article and I've included it below.
If you're serious about trying to use yoga to correct your scoliosis, I would recommend investing in classes with a certified yoga teacher who specializes in helping students with scoliosis. That way you'll have someone knowledgable to help you and interact with you and make sure you don't hurt yourself. The Yoga for Scoliosis website is one place to start in your search for a yoga instructor.
Good luck!

I can't say I know anything about yoga as a treatment for scoliosis, but I do know that chiropractic care might be able to help you.
A good chiropractic technique for scoliosis is Chiropractic Biophysics - CBP, which combines adjustments, traction, and exercise to correct spinal misalignment. The adjustments remove subluxations (a subluxation is a spinal misalignment that can pinch the nerves that run out between the vertebrae and cause problems) and allow the nerves to conduct impulses properly. The traction works to correct the curve, or at least prevent it from getting worse, and the exercises strengthen the ligaments so they can support the new posture (it's a little bit like dental braces, but without the braces!). Since CBP is a technique that aims to make relatively drastic changes to the spinal column but in a gradual, safe way, your (CBP) chiropractor will probably want to see you 3 times a week for 8-10 weeks for initial the treatment. He/she will then show you a post x-ray so you can see if you've made any progress.
I'm NOT guaranteeing a cure, but I did work in a CBP office and saw how it helped people with scoliosis. If you're interested, you can learn more about CBP (and find a CBP chiropractor near you) at:

If you do decide to see a chiropractor, just make sure that he/she comes highly recommended. Talk with a few DC's to explain your situation, and ultimately choose the chiropractor that you are most comfortable with. No matter what you decide to do, I wish you luck!

Something has to make the spine curve in an abnormal way.. It is done to keep your head above your feet so you can at least stay balanced. If is is not from a past disease or, some congenital probem,it then has to come from accommodation. Your body adapts to the situation. If you are aware of usually standing on one foot more than the other, there is a reason for it. Also indicating where the problem originates. During the growth period, both sides of the body may not grow at the same rate.. As you may or may not know, the body comes together in the middle with parts that are not totally identical. If one leg grows at a slower rate than the other, you will end up with a shorter leg. Meaning you will lean a bit more to that side when walking or even standing. The only way to keep the scoliosis from progressing is to put something under that foot to make the legs equal in length. At your age there may even be the chance of reversing it somewhat.

i'm not sure if a home yoga program works as effectively as an actual class...they help you with your positions and correct posture. Scoliosis hurts man, i know, even when you sleep. My doctor wouldn't let me wear heels for a year and suggested i change my mattress and not carry anything heavy...great excuse to have ppl help carry your bags. =]

i have scoliosis.
i would question doing yoga as a corrective matter.
if you are still growing , swim every day.
if you are and adult , just keep moving
and don't lift excess weight.
