I am a punk girl, but I do not make a big show of it so most normal, preppy boys are attracted to me. I have plenty of normal interests like reading, political science, etc. and I can get along fine with non-punks. Secretly, I'm the biggest punk fan and I want to be a music journalist. I collect CDs, read punkews.org daily, and read all about the history of the scene. My boyfriend now hardly even listens to music. We get along fine, and he shows an interest in going to shows and listening to my music. I don't really want to school anyone though. I just want a boyfriend that is already punk, so we can talk obsessively about it. Where do I get one of these punk rockers? Should I even break up just because my bf isn't punk like me?

If you never love him then just dump his ***! Or talk to him! It seems that he is the one giving in the relationship learning about your interests! What have you done for him? Do you love him? Is he a safety blanket? If that is the case i say dump him because it is unfair for him in the relationship unless he is okay with it. you seem really influenced by the media. which i think is really bad for teenagers these days! Artists and celebrities only love you as a fan cus of your money! I'm sure your music tastes will change like everyone. My boyfriend went from Green Day to Mozart! That is what i call boring and Crazy but i still stayed with him ! You might like a band and then think it's lame. But a boyfriend is different how close are you two like how far in this relationship? ask yourself that when i'm 80 whose gonna be with me? someone who loves me unconditionally or a couple of cd's. A person that would put my name first place or a hot celebrity crush that doesn't even know i exist! you sound like "Stan" by Eminem this crazy fan of eminem watch the video on youtube.com all i have to say is that if you don't love him dump his *** take no prisoners lol!

If you want to see what else is out there- whatever that is- go for it. It's good to experiment, cause going with the safe option leads to regret. From what you're saying, your boyfriend sounds sort of like a safety blanket. The fact that you're considering breaking up with him despite any serious relationship issues confirms this- you get along well, but you want to try new things. So do. Just do it nicely (as if you needed to be told).
As a side note- Music journalist? Cool career choice!

Just becuase people are different doesn't mean that they can't be happy together. Men and women are very different, and just breaking up with him, because he's not interested in something you are interested in? Come on, that doesn't make any sense. If he mistreated you, the way I mistreated my ex-girlfriend, I would understand. But really, this is just plain dumb. Its like breaking up with someon becuase you can't stand they put mustard on their cheesburger. Or denouncing your entire family, because one of them watches too much t.v. You are young yet. Its kind of obvious from the question. You'll understand what I mean later on in life. It doesn't matter girl, that he's different than you. In fact, everybody is different than you. people might have a few common interests with you, but that doesn't make them any less meaningful if they don't. Sometimes we need to burst our bubble and find other interests, so try and see what he's interested in, and just maybe you will like it. Maybe you won't but give it a try.

You sound like a poser. I wasn't aware "punks" are supposed to be so judgemental of people. Most "punks" wouldn't ask people to make decisions for them. YOU ARE NOT A PUNK AND NEVER WILL BE

howdy, it extremely is sweet which you are attempting to be on the wholesome component of existence. A course we would desire to continually all take quicker or later. How is he no longer being supportive of it? You didnt precisely point out. yet whilst he complains i'm particular you are able to enable him understand that its your selection and which you are the single that chosen to consume like that. enable him understand you dont get exhilaration from his loss of help if it bothers you lots. yet no be counted if he likes your selection or no longer is as much as him. As for dumping him, I dont think of thats extremely necessary. better of success! ~!!@!@!!~
