There is a class action lawsuit against Progressive. If you got the letter, it means that you are a person entitled to benefit from the settlement of the lawsuit. Progressive inflated insurance rates based on credit report scores, and they did this unlawfully. Therefore, many Progressive customers--past and present--are entitled to a refund and a small award.

Fill out the paperwork and send it in.

W/o reading the letter, I don't really know, but I found the following quote from a website (address follows text). Maybe some lawyers think you were wronged and are asking you to join a lawsuit against Progressive Insurance? :

"Interesting enough, I got a letter the other day about a Progressive lawsuit (I had a Progressive policy on the 240SX, and for a while, the Impreza). I couldn't understand the vast majority of the information they provided, but it seems if you were somehow overcharged for insurance based on (incorrect?) credit worthiness, you could get cash reimbursement, in the amount of $75 per term, up to $225. (The lawyers get something like up to $3 million...) "

Looks like a settlement was reached regarding a class-action lawsuit against Progressive and you may get a refund. Fill out the paperwork and send it in before the deadline.

Most likely Progressive was sued as a class-action against some sort of company procedure or practice. Toss the letter.

Fill it out and send it in. Progressive had a class action lawsuit against them for overcharging some customers. They were required to notify those customers and give them a chance to request the refund for being over charged. You are one of those customers. You won't get much of course.
