Depends what nation's military, but I'd mostly vote Artillery, sounds more exciting than infantry.

Do not be an Infantry Soldier at this time. They are blowing the infantry up with all these mines. Be a mechanic or something useful after you come to your senses and get back into civilian life. The peace time Military is great. Join then. Good Luck!

If you want to make it a career you will find all high ranking officers were at some point 11B (Grunt).

If you have the Intestinal Fortitude go 11B study hard train hard and be a Green Beret, While Navy Seals make movies our Green Beret are out of sight and out of mind, They are America's first and foremost Special Forces Group.
Only the British SAS are in the same league as our Green Beret. No hype no hoopla low key git r done a** kicking machines. Rock Steady!

Either way you're cannon fodder. You got a slightly better chance of survival as an artillery, but the difference is marginal. Best option is to not heed the call up. But if you do, keep your powder dry and your head down. Heroes are usually dead.
