there's this gnawing emptiness in my heart

of being surrounded with friends yet feeling so alone

Person with unusual or odd personality that many times doesn't fit in within the circle of people that is around. For example, if all your friends like to go out on Friday and Saturday night but you practice yoga instead during that time, and also when all your friends read some easy romantic novels but you read some hard and heavy philosophical stuff may make your friends thinking that you are eccentric. It doesn't mean you are crazy but you are different than those around you at same age. Note that I didn't mean to insult anyone with the examples just wanted to show the differences.

Someone who knows what normal reactions probably are and chooses to do as they feel like even though it is a little or a lot beyond what is accepted as proper behavior.
