I'd just like to point out that I'm from Australia and all the transit companies in one state are more or less linked to one another. The ones in California do not appear to be :P

Can someone please tell a nice simple way (that doesn't include hiring a car or being chauffered about) to get from the Anaheim Plaza Hotel in Anaheim to the Warner Brothers Studios in Burbank (and return if you're feeling adventurous :P).

Thanks in advance!

You can take the Metrolink train (or Amtrak train) from Anaheim station to Union Station in Los Angeles. Depending on your schedule, take Metrolink when possible. (40 minutes)

Once you're at Union Station in Los Angeles, you can take Metro subway Red Line (North Hollywood Line) then Metro Bus 163. (Confirm with the Metro Bus ticket counter person at Union Station.) (between 30-60 minutes)

Ask your hotel about how you can get to the Anaheim train station, located next to the Angels Stadium (maybe bus /walk). Buy 1-way ticket at the Anaheim station before boarding the train.

Metrolink tickets are cheaper than Amtrak tickets. Metrolink ticket also allows you to take the Metro Rail Red Line for free, but confirm this at Union Station. (Metrolink is a rush-hour train, its last train back to Anaheim is 6:30PM. So, I recommend buying a 1-way ticket in the morning.) The return trip Metro Bus line is the same 163, if before 4:50PM. Check website below for Bus schedule after 5PM. Let me know if you have questions.

--------Copied from website schedule--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ride Metro Rail Red Line (NORTH HOLLYWOOD Line)
From: UNION STATION RED LINE SUBWAY TERM
To: HOLLYWOOD HIGHLAND Station

Ride Metro Bus 163 heading east
From: HOLLYWOOD BL/HIGHLAND AV(SE corner)
To: OLIVE/MAPLE(SE corner)
Walk Northeast on Olive Ave., right on Riverside Drive, right on Avon St, Left on Warner Blvd.

Paul has the best advice on how to get there using public transport. Unfortunately Anaheim to Burbank is quite a distance, and right now we are having a heat wave... so to go thru this would be quite an ordeal!!

It would be more convenient to call the Super Shuttle and have them take you. Its faster, and you wont 'be spending 2 hours on the train/lightrail/bus getting there.

No this is stupid you are in the epicenter of automobile traffic in the world...view it as an adventure...rent a damn car for a day...there is no good way to get there otherwise....jezzz....just get on the interstate and head due north....We don't do public transportation like normal countries...why do you think we fight wars for oil????
