If your from the states and have never ventured out I say start in london and go through europe first. It all really depends on your ability to adapt to culture, your knowledge of countries your visiting and if your alone or not. Anywhere in the world can be exciting if it suites your interests. India is amazing, but don't go alone, espeically if your a female. I say start Europe, soooo much to do sooo much to see and it's not too horribly shocking well to me not shocking at all. Go have fun, be safe.

well because i never got an opportunity to just become a traveler, i would definetly visit europe, (italy, greece and rome have many historical landmarks and sights that are soon to be gone) they do not allow anyone in the leaning tower of piza anymore because it will collapse i believe and you no longer can take pictures inside of the group of temples in greece because of their current nature being so fragile, oh and in venice, you have to go on that boat ride thingy on that little river thingy that has hundreds of little n big bridges because that river is also getting smaller and will no longer be able to offer boat rides because in about 50 years it will reduce itself by atleast 25%. you should also see the grand canyon, come to where i am in ny, go to 42nd street, see wall street, go to the wtc site, ground zero and see the remarkable progress being made as of now, and take the circle line ferry to the statue of liberty. only 60 dollars for a whole day in ny can make you the happiest because you can ride the ferry, go into the statue of liberty on ellis island and even get a hotdog and a sprite, lol. there are many sites, i think if your in the us, you might as well go around the united states first to all the great sites here and then, go beyond to the world. you'd be amazed at civilizations still not as advanced as us, even tokyo, Japan. well hoped this helped....1

I'd say Europe or Japan. If Europe, you should travel by train through several different countries.
Japan is just a cool place with lots of culture, lots to do and friendly people.

Well, I went to Amsterdam as part of a trip to an international Model UN my junior year, and I've been plenty of other places, and it's still my favorite. It's a friendly and fun city with lots of historical landmarks and museums. It also has lots of clubs and bars if you like to go out at night. We stayed at The Owl Hotel, which is WONDERFUL, but I don't know about your price range, so I'd recommend looking for a youth hostel to stay in.
