The breed is called a Tigerdane. They are VERY expensive, since they are a cross between a tiger and a Great Dane and it is very dangerous to breed them, not to the dog or the tiger, but to the breeders.

Seriously, it was a Great Dane that a Tiger Woods fan somehow dyed tiger stripes on - clever and cute, and so appropriate in that Tiger made a huge comeback and won the Open.

I can't think of any tiger striped dogs.
Brindle is a coat coloring where black, tan and a sort of orange color swirl together to look a little like tiger stripes. Pit Bulls and other "bully" breeds are the most common dogs you see in this coat type.
Maybe the dog was painted by a fan to show favortism for the players. You know, like the crazy people at foot ball games paint their whole bodies with messages or colors of the team. Or like face paint for little kids.

I had a brief glimpse - I think the striped dog was a great dane. == Gosh Tiger Woods was playing - A Great Dane customised with tiger livery - A fan with a great sense of humour I think!!

Greyhounds/Whippets and Bully breeds are the most common to have brindle markings.

BRINDLE is ONLY a color. MANY breeds are allowed to be brindle.
