i got an eye for this pretty high-class girl, and shes my friend and all, but she's so aloof! i mean we sometimes play poker with friends and she drops by my work, but if i try to call her or anything, she never answers! is it just me? how do i bag this chick?

If she is high class you need to be very assertive with her. Make the rules in a polite way. Make her believe she is the only one Do not over do by buying flowers and stuff. Be yourself. Be casual. Be cool/calm. Make sure your eyes are locked into hers when you talk and again be assertive.

An aloof chick, as you say, knows she's hot and knows she can get any guy she wants. So you have to shine...but at the same time, act like you don't care. Play her own game. Find something you know will entice her, and then blow her off. Don't fall all over her to get her attention; that's what she expects.
