As Soon As Possible. I don't know the origin, but the abbreviation was very widely used on those little pink "While You Were Out" phone message slips. Of course now it's been taken over by hordes of brevity-conscious text messagers and chatters.

ASAP is an acronym for As Soon As Possible.
It gives us a chance to understand our own possibilities, abilities, and disabilities. Usually we can see this in medical records given by physicians. ie. like... The patient has to come back to see me in two weeks or three weeks ASAP.
