I once lost my cat for over a week. He got up inside my dad's car engine and rode to work with him. The cat made it to work alive without a scratch believe it or not. We are talking about a 20 minute ride on the freeway. After about a week, a friend of my dad's, at work on a break, noticed a cat meowing in some bushes and my dad went over and realized it was our cat. I think my cat must have used up about 3 or 4 lives, but we found him safe and sound. Don't give up yet. I really hope you find your cat.

I had a cat named Jack at a time in my life when I was dirt poor, so he was un-neutered. I worried about him all the time because he was smaller than other cats in our neighborhood and lost a lot of fights. When we couldn't find him, I feared the worst. About a year later I broke down and got another cat. Then one day, I opened the door and there was Jack! He walked right in as if nothing had transpired and went straight to the pet dishes. Then the new cat walked in and they both jumped when they saw each other, each wondering what the other was doing in their house.
Thanks for bring back that memory. Don't give up hope unless you actually find a body. And check the shelters every day--this time of year they aren't held very long.

I live in the country with my closest neighbor half a mile away. I had a cat who disappeared after about 6 months of living here. My neighbor hadn't seen her. I finally decided a coyote or something must have gotten her.

It was probably 3 months later, she came walking up one day. I couldn't believe it. She was in good health, but had lots of fleas. She stayed around for about 6 months and disappeared again. 2 or 3 months later she showed up again. She's been doing this for 3 years. She obviously has another family she goes to visit.

I have quite a few outside cats. A vet told me that sometimes they just get tired of not being the only one and will go somewhere else. But, she always comes back, evidently she misses us once in awhile.

This is a true story! I had a cat with all kinds of extra toes he lived with us for 6 years. He was friends with every one in the neighborhood. He was gone for 2 days and I was a little worried and then I got a mystery phone call saying " your cat was in my car when I went to work and he jumped out and would not come back to me, I am sorry, I work in ___-___. I tried to trace the call and waited for the shelter and checked the shelter everyday for 3 months , I put ads in the paper and asked all the kids to look for him in all the fields and so on. After 3 months I gave up and though that he made friends with another family. I got up one morning and it was dark I opened the door to get the paper and a cat ran in a right to the food dish. He was black and I new it was him. He was skinny and very hungry and thirsty and ate and sat in my lap for 6 hours! He found me after walking about 23 miles. I am serious! I was never so happy in my life! Still here after another 10 years! Best to you and your finding your cat. They do roam and I have had them gone for one or two weeks and come home. So be brave and wait and see. keep try ing to look for him .

Well, we found our cat after 3 weeks, but odds are not good from what I hear. Have you checked out all the shelters in person? Did you have him microchipped? Hang flyers in grocery stores as well as in the neighborhood and offer a reward - the reward gets people to look for him too. Put food out, he may be around and is just not coming in. Not to be terrible, but next time don't let him go outside - we learned to have our cats indoor ones and did not allow them out without a long leash. They got used to the leash quickly and enjoyed the time out with us - without worry on our part. You might get him back, or perhaps not. You never know with a cat. Best wishes.

We had a cat who walked in and adopted us. He came and went as he pleased.

We had to move and could not find the cat.
After we moved we went back across town to the old place every day for a while but never found him.

About a year later, he showed up at the door of the new house. We had him another 10 years.

We got a cat for my dad when I was 15. Darn thing escaped outside before we got him accustom to our home. Found him 13 days later on the steps of the church where my mom co-oped a preschool (in the basement, not the church.) Luck and a little help from above.

Check the animal shelter. He may have just gotten lost and picked up by someone. If he's not there, don't worry! Cats have a very keen sense of direction and know where their home is. I've had too many cats in my lifetime to count, and lost many of those. Most of them come back! :D

do not pass and purchase a sparkling cat real away. changing feeling of longing with a sparkling puppy isn't good to do. putting a puppy down is an extremely peacful way for them to die. They pass in a calm, painless sleep. the actual incontrovertible fact which you have been crying that comparable nighttime shows a solid bond, that's amazing, Belive me, the way you defined you and Pasha, he lived a happy existence. attempt creating slightly memorial for him, make a undeniable resting place which you will pass to once you go with to think of roughly him. it particularly is painful earlier each and every little thing, yet remembering those innovations will benifite you once you become older so which you do not forget the best situations you had with him :)

wow...our cat, chase, is just shy of 13 mos, nuetered and took a missing on july 13th. we did some things to try and find him, too. the odds are that your kitty will return. he turned up sat night, july 22nd. looks as if he's either been in a cat fight or was hit slightly by a car. our guess is when he got injured he sought shelter until he was strong enough to get back to us. he's pretty spooked right now. looks as if his jaw is unaligned and a slash under his chin and maybe blind in the left eye. we're having a vet visit chase...we don't want to spook him any further by taking him out of his territory. he looks dusty. i, his mom, have to take him to his bowl and we are only giving him soft IAMS cat food right now. i brush him after each eating until he can start cleaning himself after meals...he's not drinking a lot of water. after he eats he goes and hides under the sofa. i allow him 15 mins under the sofa and put him right back on the soft blanket w/me he likes that. FOR YOUR KITTY..it's possible he may be he's just out being a kitty. check your local animal shelter, talk to the neighborhood grass cutting guy, check w/your neighbors who have cats and have as many people as you can listen for a cat under their house. we have a feeling chase was probably under someone's house and living off of bugs for survival. please let me know if your kitty shows!
