I quit smoking a month ago and it seems like I'm drinking almost every night. I never get wasted. Well I did get wasted last week, but for the most part I have 1 or 2 drinks. Is it possible that I'm replacing smoking with drinking? I'm worried about it. I didn't drink last night, but I felt like drinking and I feel like drinking now. Anyone have experience with this?

Yes you are replacing one habit with another..instead of drinking alcohol try drinking something like Tea or Coffee...you have an addictive personality...once you realize this..you can overcome those habits that you want to break away from...Good luck

It sounds like you have what is called, "an addictive personality". You trade one addiction for another. If you try and give up drinking now, you may go back to smoking, or get hooked on diet coke.

Try and find something else to do besides drink & or smoke. Chew gum instead of smoking and drink soda instead of booze.

Good luck.

One thing for sure, mixing tobacco smoke with alcohol is a sure way to increase the risk of cancer, big time.

If you need to be intoxicated, smoke pot... you can quit cold turkey any time.

If you become an alcoholic and quit booze cold turkey, you'll get a seizure.

Alcohol addiction screws up EVERY organ in your body... even the brain, big time.

Tabacco addiction is a REALLY HARD thing to kick too.

That will never happen with pot.

Oh yeah, I quit cold turkey pot 10 yrs ago, because my life situation improved dramatically, ZERO withdrawals an NO cravings since.

My freind smoked tobacco forever, he just got over cancer.

That's one way to quit smoking.

Btw, pot smoking causing cancer? Myth.

It's definitely possible. Just recently, there was a news article released about people with gastric bypass surgery took up drinking in place of eating:

As a result, scientists think that there may be some biochemical explanation for this, possibly an imbalance in brain chemistry that leads to addictive behavior.

You may want to bring this up with your doctor. They may be able to prescribe you some drugs that may helpful in controlling your addictions.

Personally I cannot drink without smoking and vice versa.
So when I do not smoke I cannot drink and If I cannot drink I do not smoke.

Sounds like you're replacing one addiction with another... Try to get addicted to something healthy, like exercise or something.
