Neeta, WHAT is your Question ?
...And even if we take it that you are asking whether your 'proposal' is a feasible one, the Answer is a definite 'No !' :
...I have personally seen plump persons, who just nibble on a few morsels [They are not dieting, and their excessive weight is mainly due to hormonal imbalances rather than gluttony !]. And I have also watched skinny persons who can really tuck it in - as if all food was going out of stock !
Your proposal would not be a fair one !
You could propose instead, that what a person loads onto his/her plate, in a Buffet, is weighed each time - and the Bill raised accordingly ! This would make the Billing a bit more realistic !

I agree, I was a waitress at a buffet and every first of the month a mother and her child came and they sat for hours. They would start about 1:30 p.m. and still be there at close! I am in no way joking, kidding or making fun! They purposely ate and waited for it to "settle." They would take the biggest table there was and yes there were only 2 of them. They both were so obese that I actualy think it should have been a case of child abuse. I think back about that and become angry! And they paid what I would pay but they made that an all day event and since its all you can eat, what can you do or say??? I would glady pay $12.00 for a meal especially if I can take all day to eat it!

Sounds Fair to Me!...I weigh 135 & would Pay about $13.50...I'd definitely get my money's worth 'Cause I always zero-in on the Meats & Veggies...and go easy on starchy potatoes, etc!
Also, I only take what I know I can eat on my plate...It's usually clean when I'm finished - I don't like to Waste food!
Some of the Hogs @ Buffets...are in line 3 or 4 times...and leave behind a stacked plateful, or more, of uneaten food!!!
So Yes - Charge by Weight!

No, this would not work in our family. I am heavier than my husband, yet I probably usually have one plate. My husband, who has an amazing metabolism and is a beanpole, can eat till the cows come home. I think somehow it evens out in the end, but man, my hubby gets his money worth at our fav. buffet. I feel bad when I barely eat enough to justify the cost of my meal.

Ok, are you ok! I don't see why anybody would even pay $12 for a buffet! I pay $4 for Chinese and Pizza Parlors. Then up to $10 for Steak! That is some real good eating now!

No. You are assuming that someone heavier will eat more. That's not necessarily true.
I eat at some buffets and they are a good deal. Maybe if you don't eat a lot they are not for you. I do not stuff myself and do not try to eat a sample of almost everything. Instead, I eat moderately and stick to items I know I like from previous experience.
By the way, I am really thin.

That would just be nuts!! I can't afford the four dollar resturants. And there are places that you pay that amount and you can eat.
But that wouldn't be fair to charge on how much you weigh. Skinny people would be saving big time and then others wouldn't be. And some skinny people can put away more people then the bigger people, so it would just not be fair!

Well, first of all, if you're tired of paying that much than go elsewhere. Believe it or not, there are skinny people that can put away a lot more than some obese people. I don't think weight has anything to do with how much one can consume in a single sitting.

Nobody pays for what they weigh, that's ridiculous....All buffets make out dollar-wise on children or diet patrons anyways.
Stop going there---$30 is a lot of money!

The greater in call for you regulate into on your profession the greater money is presented in and the greater weight you benefit and the least you think of roughly public and social subjects. The equation is so trouble-free and functional. My question could be do we ever see an afternoon whilst this equation could slightly replace. As interior the load would be out from this equation in comparison straight away proportional with the flesh presser's profession while he could be greater in touch in fixing all burning social subjects? " whilst is that day going to come again? Will it ever come? Mr. Stephanopoulos hoping to get an answer from you?
