depends where you play really my home course has two dog legs right and two doglegs left. they do this to challenge shotmaking and club selection.

I would guess that it would make a dogleg more difficult since many begginers have a slice not a hook.

Are you sure about this? You are making the statement that most golf courses are counter-clockwise in design, but is this really true? What is your source for this fact?

Never really thought to much about it. All depends on the contours of the golf course.

because each side has to loop back causing it to be a circle which must continue to turn.
