It's a free country, and that is what your husband is fighting for. I was in the Navy for 6 years...but I can't walk around asking people why they are so rude about stuff. Be proud of your husband (and yourself by the way), ignore jerks, and if somebody doesn't take their hat off for the anthem, set 'em straight!

If you want a reason for why people act the way they do, Americans as a whole have not suffered for a VERY long time. Not since the 40's. Most of that generation is gone now, and the current generation is mostly made of entitled people that are only attuned to their own needs.

It was interesting seeing the responses. Somehow "LIBERAL" has suddenly been equated with unpatriotic. Well, this might be out of bounds, so forgive me, but SCREW YOU PEOPLE. My wife and I both served in the military, we both voted for the other candidates because we knew that the current president had nothing to offer...and we were right. Those "Christians" answering up there need to do a little independent thinking on the state of American affairs. You people are the ones who are destroying this great country, with your inability to think for yourselves...and by the way...prayer IS NOT the answer to the problems, although it may be comforting. We need ACTION to solve problems, such as people who put down the military folk.

I think "one eyed" is right. I really believe that less than 1% of Americans are putting down the military, it's bush that people are disgusted with for sending our troops to die in a war that he started with lies. Iraq had nothing to do with 9-11 and had no WMD's, and Bin Laden is no where near Iraq! The republicans in office have gotten very good at deflecting the blame from themselves. Anybody who is against the war is said to be unamerican and unpatriotic. If they really respected the troops they would not have attacked John Kerry who did two combat tours in Viet Nam while george bush's daddy made it possible for georgie to avoid doing his duty in VN. Now how is that respecting the troops? The only real difference Viet Nam & Iraq is that in Viet Nam, bush did have an exit strategy.

By the way, I am a Liberal Democrat and a decorated combat Vet. The two are not mutually exclusive!

Finally someone asks the question. I am a fellow army wife myself. I am sick of people putting the military down. Some Americans are pathetic. They insult the military for putting there life on the line for us every day! My husband is over there in iraq serving our country proudly. They don't seem to realize the "hell" we go thru everyday while they are doing there job. I miss my husband everyday, I wonder will he come home ALIVE! I bet those people that put the military down don't have anyone serving in the military. So they can't relate.

From one army wife to another THANK YOU!

I travel all over the country and speak to thousands of people, and I'll tell ya; though many do not trust the government and especially politicians, I have yet to really hear anyone attack the military and especially not soldiers. Everyone either been in the service or has some close relation who has either served or died in the military.

First I want to say thank you for your time and service to our country although it is your husband in the military, the family bears a lot in his absence and therefore is sacrificing as well.

Do not be discouraged by the liberal news media, I for one and my wife and family do appreciate the fact that the military does a fine job regardless of what the liberal press media
puts out. I pray and my church prays daily for safe return of our military personnel and to protect them from harm while serving.

You are welcome to come visit our home and area if you need to be surrounded by friendly Christian people who support military families. Our community supports the military all branches.

God Bless you, your family, our military and the USA.

WHAT? Like you think our government is always right. Look at the Indians, the African Americans, the Mexicans now, Vietnam, Iran contra, just to name a few.

Don't take it personally we just know our government is wrong and we are allowed to express it.

I'm sure we all hope our soldiers are alright but they shouldn't be in harms way in Iraq because GW Bush didn't want to use diplomacy.

It's the liberal democrats that bash and put down the military and the work they have done... As for me I would gladly stand up with my fellow military personnel and support them in anything they do.

it's SOOOOOO easy to say that things against the military when those who say it have never been there. they cannot realize the situations soldiers face overseas and only spew their hatred to further their politcal or primitive reasons. it's easier to complain about things than to actually go out and do them. appears lots of people would rather complain than lift a finger to help. sucks to be them and I vote we send THEM over there and see what it's like. see how their thoughts and views change if they get back

Unfortunately, the majority that do are disserviced by an activist media who only wish to promote the opinions of left-wing goofballs.

God bless you and your family, ma'am.
