I'm scared to have kids because of my dislike of them.

I did not like to be around kids, until I had both of mine. I still don't like other peoples ids, but I love mine so much. I never knew that I could love them so much. It is a big decision to make on if you want kids or not, if not, don't worry about it, not everyone will. And as you get older, you might even change your mind and decide that you do.

Then don't have kids. It's plain and simple. If you can't stand being around them, having your own will not change that.

You might eventually out grow your dislike for children, but not everyone is made to be a parent. It's just that simple. I have kids, and I do like being a parent, but I have no friends with kids, and none that want to have kids. I don't think they generally dislike the kids, they just don't want to be parents.

There is nothing wrong with not having kids. Or waiting longer, for that matter. Maybe when you are older, you might find you want children or even just one. But if you genuinely dislike children now, having one is not the way to go.

Hey Summer, don't worry about this. You feel differently about your own children, than you do about those who belong to others. I was brought up as an only child and my friends all teased me in high school that I would never become a mother. I agreed with them! They all babysat for their siblings and neighborhood kids....and when I was with them while they did this, I nearly went nuts! My own mother was convinced that I would never have a child and that if I did...I would NOT be a good mother (thanks mom) and guess what! I am now 35 years old and I have seven children! And...I'm a great mom! Yep! And I not only sort of can stand them now, I adore them! Even on days when they are acting like someone else's kids ;)

So don't doubt yourself so much...and give yourself a break with this issue...you will be an amazing mom! Your children will be better than anyone else's kids! (we all think that---it just happens that way) And I bet you will set back and look at your past and think the same things I did...and you will be so proud to be a good momma, just like I am!

Only....you don't HAVE to have seven kids...though 7 is my favorite number now!

Maybe. But even if you don't- don't worry about it. Not everyone is ment to have children. DON'T have kids until you're comfortable with them. -And don't let people tell you there's anything wrong with you if you decide not to have children. Just be carefull that whoever you fall in love with- that they feel the same way you do.

No, you'll Always dislike OTHER PEOPLE'S children. Trust me...I had my son, love him like nothing else..would kill for him..but other people's children really get on my nerves.

I dislike kids too. If you don't like them, just don't have them. That's what I plan to do:)

It is different when they are your own, but I wouldn't recommend parenthood if you are so unsure - wouldn't be fair to your child.

What didn't you like about being a child?
If you can figure that out, you probably could come to some kind of resolution regarding parenthood.

when you find the right guy, you won't give it a second thought, you'll gladly try to give him all the kids he wants.
