Quite a few believe it would be safe, I am not sure. Your vet will be the best qualified to answer this question. There may be ingredients in it that might cause a allergic reaction in your dog.

Yes it safe and could be what saves your dog. I had 4 month old pit bull that had parvo and didn't eat anything for 4 days. Pedialite was all she had during that time. check your dogs skin, if you pull it up and it stays there or slowly goes back down this is a sign of dehydration. I put the Pedialite in a bottle with a pull spout lid and just let the liquid slowly drizzle into her mouth. However if your dog does have parvo you may want to have a vet administer an IV drip. This will hydrate the dog alot faster. I was lucky and could stay home with my pup 24\7. Good luck.

I would definitely think it's okay for dogs to drink Pedialyte - god knows they drink from gross puddles and things too.....it really depends on how long your dog hasn't been drinking - from my own experience with my large lab who actually went 2-3 days without drinking water, and I was in contact with my vet during that time by the way, my vet said it does take dogs longer to get dehydrated but if your dog hasn't drank in a day or so especially with how hot it has been across the U.S., why not call a vet and ask specifically - don't just ask us dog owners on line........you seem to care enough about your pet to ask online - call a vet - at least the call will be free! Take care!

Yes it is safe. It is basically water, with sodium (salt) and sugar. You can even make it yourself.

Bring your dog indoors. Take a dropper if you have to and drop the pedialite in his mouth. Its more important for him to drink than eat right now. See how he does. If no improvement take him to the vet.

When my dog had parvo, they gave me a tube of something to give him orally. It was a gel that I placed a small drop on his tongue, and it gave him all of the nutrients that he needed for the day.

yes pedialite is good for your dog especially if they have not been drinking water. whenever my puppy got sick it wouldn't eat or drink either. i had to feed it pedialite from a medicine dropper. i did this like every couple of hours. if it throws up i give it some pepto bismol. i do this anytime a puppy gets sick. the pedialite helps them gain their strength back. so i highly reccommend that you give it pedialite.

Yes, it is absolutely fine. When our old dog had parvo, I was forcefeeding him this. It is very good, but don't give too much, and mix it half with water. I think it was only about 2 ounces at a time, depending on the size of the dog.

pedialite is just sugar water, so it should be safe for a dog since most people feed it to there children

Yes, they can have Pedialite. Try the plain one and put a little low salt chicken broth into it. To get him to drink more, try putting a little low salt chicken broth into his regular water, too.

I don't see why not.
It's not dangerous for children and it's not like your dog would know what it is.
On the hand,
Your dog may not like the taste, but it doesn't mean it not safe.

You may want to bath your dog in cool water or put him in a pool where he can play and stay cool

If the canine is eating water, she does not might desire to drink pedialyte. the only reason you will possibly desire to stress her to drink pedialyte is that if she does not desire to drink something. The pedialyte is nearly a extra robust concentrated dose of "hydration." If the canine is preserving herself hydrated because it extremely is with water, the better concentrated dose isn't necessary. If it extremely is clever. you are able to attempt to combine interior the pedialyte in case you think of you are able to sneak it by capacity of your canine, yet my wager is you will no longer have the capacity to. If she stops eating water and refuses, then swap back to the "compelled" pedialyte technique to make particular she does not grow to be dehydrated.
