Usually warts are on the outside of a hand. So give the person the respect of not flinching or puking at this situation. It may gross you out, but don't clasp your hand all the way around, just give a quick, firm shake with your hand kind of extended to the point where you won't touch the wartson the outside of the hands. Please though in a situation like this, they're probably embarrassed, or don't know what to do either. It would the best if they would just alleviate us from our responsibility... but alas that's not always the case. I met a customer who had 1/2 a hand coming out of his elbow and he wanted to shake hands with that (even though he had no feeling or control over that "hand") It took me by surprise and I almost did the wrong thing. Well it turns out he was the CEO of the co. and that's a little "test" he gives to anyone that he wants to work with. The physical stuff was real, but he had a great attitude and so, so very smart, and this was his way of weeding out undesirables. PS I started there as a Sales Manager, then to Director, then to General Manager, with me taking over John's respnisbilities so he could fish.

Wow, this is a good question. Warts are carried by a virus so if you touched it you might not get warts at all, or you might get them years and years later.
I'd politely abstain from shaking hands, maybe by doing a Japanese bow or curtsy or something else to make avoidance possible. I would not think well of a person who so willingly wanted to share a contagious virus like that and would avoid dealing with them in the future. There are just too many ways to get rid of warts not to be aware of how ugly they can be.
Peace

i can not think of that TV show with Howey Mandel. the one with all the suit cases of money.
he has OCD... obsessive compulsive disorder and he can not shake any ones hands because of germs and swet. so that is why he makes a first and he lightly touches nuckels with the person instead of shaking hands. He was entertainment tonight talking about it.
so do the nuckel thing. or say I am sorry I have had a bad cough and been covering my mouth with my hands and do not want to pass my cold germs onto you.
