I mean is that like the easy way of saying no if you dont really want to hurt the persons feelings or what?

It means no. And yes, it is the easy way. It could be true, it could not be, but regardless, it means she thinks enough of your feelings to not be a b**ch about turning you down. It's our way of being nice about it. Sorry, Bro!
