Try drinking a large glass of water before you sit down to eat. Only eat half as much as you did yesterday, if you find that you are hungry later, get some rice cakes, (a lot like styrofoam) or celery and carrots and munch if you must. Cut out refined sugars and the carbs like candy, and junk foods, they only tend to increase your appetite, and leave you feeling less than full. Eat fiber rich foods, yes this may cause you to have gas if you are unaccustomed to the foods high in fiber (beans, bran, brocoli) and other things can be a shock to a hamburger eater's system! Cut out all but very lean meats, and limit your portions!
I am happy with my weight, but when I see the scale trying to creep up, I clean out the candy dishes and the junk food and buy some celery and carrots, because I know when I begin to cut back on my portions that I will want to munch! No alcohol, no fatty food, eat a big bowl of salad with a no fat dressing on it, you will spend enough time chewing that you will have the illusion of having had a BIG meal.
I call this the push away diet, just push away from that table, and pretty soon, you will not be as hungry. Portion control until you begin to feel satisfied, you know that another glass of water is going to make you feel some fullness, it does not add to calorie intake, so at first you may find that you will increase your water and celery and carrot intake, please remember to take a vitamin and calcium supplement, on any diet, the idea is to maintain a good balance and be heathy!
Good luck!

go on a fast, your stomach will shrink. eat fruit the day before you start fasting and eat light when you break the fast. like soup.
Drink liquids only, I hear that lemon and water is good for you to detox while fasting too. just don't go overboard. use common sense. If you start feeling bad, suck on a hard candy.

Eat lots of HIGH FIBER foods and protein. Eat in portions the size of your palm or smaller, and never more than 3 portions at one time (total). Do this 5 to 6 times a day.

Eating smaller portions for about a week. It'll be challenging at first, but then your stomach will get used to it and it will be miserable when you eat too much.
