Where i'm from the women do everything. They are practically slaves! Every morning I have to make breakfast for my brothers, do the dishes, clean their rooms, and clean the entire house. I can't play video games for more than 30 minutes and my mom doesn't like it when I watch UFC. She calls me a Tomboy! All the guys have to do is take out the trash once a week and sit on their *** and watch T.V. If I suggest one of my brothers to do the dishes, my mom yells at me and says i'm a girl and I have to be more responsible. Tell me, is this fair? I'm 13 years old and cooking for my family since I was 9.

It is old fashioned thinking. I also grew up that way, there were 15 people in my family and as the youngest girl I started doing house chores as soon as I could walk, and started doing dishes as soon as I could stand in a chair, been cooking since I was 7. I had three brothers and 6 sisters, if it is any consilation to you the girls are professionals in their jobs and the boys find it very difficult to keep a job because they were never taught a work ethic. Try to rise above your circumstances and show your family that you are more than just a servant, you are a bright intelligent girl with lots to offer in this world. Who knows what you may grow up to be.

Your right its not fair. Its 2006, no reason that your brothers could not help out more. Tell your mom how you feel. You need to do something for yourself, sounds like to deserve it. But remember when you get married that you will being doing the same thing. Majority of guys dont do much around the house. Good luck with things and God Bless!

As you are on the religion page is there a "religious component"...do you attend a "church" that says this is ok behavior?... If this is the case you have to tough it out as long as you can... try to make it to 18... I know 5yrs is a long time but you have few legal options... unless there is more you are not telling... At 18... get the hell out and dont look back... in the mean time get the best education you can so you are as prepaired as you can be to take care of yourself whrn the time comes...how to handle money and plan your own life kind of things... learn all you can of life outside your confinement... learn learn learn...but keep it to yourself as best you can... then if it is as bad as you state... you can kiss them off and have a good chance at life...

DONT fall for the first stud to come along...just to get out of the house... take care of your self...dont let some guy fool you into thinking he will do for you...

if you have any God knowledge... do a lot of praying... find a church home... that is, go to a church that will provide the friendship and guidence YOU need...If you are able to given your circomstances... you may need someone to run to and a GOOD church is where good people are....

May God guide you in the coming years

No this is not fair. Everyone should be helping out. Do both your parents work? It may be that your mom is old fashioned and just wants you to learn how to take care of the household. Have you tried to sit down with your mom and tell her how you really feel? It might help if you haven't.

In Canada and the US, no it's not.

At family dinners my aunt gathers me and my female cousins to do dishes. ^_^ I'm a poop disturber and protest until a male cousin helps too hehehe

:P But, girls can handle more responsibility than boys hehehe JK!

No it is not fair. Life is not fair. And when you become a mother will you pass down the traditions?

Clearly you have not given the complete picture. Does your mother work, how many siblings are there, etc.

Everyone comes from a different culture and background, and although I don't believe it is fair, while you are under your parents roof, you must obey them. Just remember how you feel today and when you have your own kids make sure you treat them differently.

Nothing is fair in this world. Maybe your mom was raised the same way she is raising you. And you gonna do the same when you have your own family.
